One game too many. Terribly mismanaged.

Apparently we need to hire more athletic zamboni drivers........

Really no excuse for this.

Honestly, finding since the Expansion draft we have made some really questionable decisions.

Moving Heaven on Earth to keep Holl and Kerfoot, and losing the better player in McCann hasn't sat well with me. Watching Holl struggle and Kerfoot underwhelm thus far hasn't helped either.

Hoping Liljegren gets a real opportunity to show what he can do. Holl had a full year of mentoring with Muzzin. We need to put the same investment into Liljegren, who by all intentions, should have a higher ceiling than Holl. Why wouldn't we invest more into the player with the greatest potential?

I just don't get the development approach being employed here. I hope Liljegren comes in and doesn't try to do too much to keep a spot. Play it simple, stay in your lane, and he should make a great complementary partner for Muzzin, much better than Holl.....

Cheers.

Not surw why they wouldn't just waive Amadio and bring up Hutch. Run a short lineup up front.

It's not like he's really shown much.

Probably thought the chances of an injury in net are not huge, even with Campbell. Whereas you need to figure out how to play down a skater no matter what.

Or that Bishop could still win them the game even if Campbell did somehow get injured.

Because finding a replacement for McCann was by far the easiest and cheapest between the three and Leafs management do not make decisions based on two games.

I am hoping the Leafs have a much better start, but if once again the top line looks stagnant - I wish that finally Marner would be moved down the lineup in-game.

Nylander has been given this treatment before, so I don't understand how despite struggles at various points Marner has never been removed from the top two centers on this team - even for a period!

It is not a permanent move or solution but now is the time to be trying in game moves to create sparks and spreading the healthy three stars on three different lines - and keep register of what works and what does not.

Man thats tough. You know u cornered yourself when you can't even dress your regular 3rd goalie

We’ve been running a 22 man roster this season, which is pretty average. We have three non-LTIR injuries at the same time.

There are 16 teams playing at the cap. 9 of them have 22 or fewer roster players and would be in the same situation if three players went down short term.

It’s also a nothing situation. We have to play one game a man short before getting a cap free call up.

Not based on 2 games. They had all of last season to see what we had in Kerfoot and Holl, and were in a position to make a decision based on what they saw.

Holl is not a top 4 D-man, and Kerfoot is not effective at Centre. McCann was a better fit.

Bunch of things already looking like mistakes.

  • The decision to keep Kerfoot.
  • The decision to protect Holl.
  • The decision to sign Petr Mrazek.
  • The decision to sign Nick Ritchie.

Boston fans were doing cartwheels of joy when bruins didn't qualify ritchie; of course our management apparently thinks otherwise.....

I hope Lily is afforded the same leeway that is being awarded to sandin i.e. make mistakes but no benching -> sandin keeps gaining confidence

they must allow Lily to play his game especially with Muzzin as his partner

IMHO I think its a freakin' JOKE that an 11 AAV player requires another 11 AAV player to produce in a cap world.

Both JT and Marner should be driving their own lines and lifting their linemates' games. Because of Keefe's BS Nylander who has been one of the better players gets the short end of the stick and it is effing STUPID

Between Mrazek, Holl, and Matthews not on LTIR and opening up cap, but being unable to play, that is almost 1/4 of our cap that is not available but can't be relieved either.

I imagine this means Mrazek's injury is not all that serious, because if it was, I don't see why they can't put him on LTIR. We wouldn't need an emergency recall.

We are not the first team that has had this happen either. Happened to Vegas last year too, although I think it was a skater and they just played with one less for a game. At least we can ice a full lineup and we won't even feel the effects of it unless we suffer a goalie injury, and if we do, maybe we get to redeem ourselves for Ayres.

I also saw this... so looks you're probably right... not long term.
