Rynnas has been solid in the AHL. I wouldn't be surprised if he has an amazing camp and steals the job. That said I still think it will be Reimer.

5 out of like 10 responses were stupid.

We've lost it.

We can't handle this **** today.

Only thing to top this day off would be a LOLongo deal.

Yeah it would be nice to have some actual discussion on the subject, more than half the responses are from wannabe amateur comedians.

Needless to say if Luongo is a leaf by that time, it's his spot. If it's between Reimer, Scrivens, and Rynnas, I say let training camp decide it; tell them the exhibition games are their playoffs, best showing gets the nod.

I'd be happy with a Theodore-Reimer tandem but seems that the Canucks want a vet to play with Schneider so if the Panthers get Lou, it's likely Theo goes to Vancouver... although they may consider Clemmenson to be the vet.

If Gardiner has to go the other way, Luongo can stay in Vancouver and keep the bench warm. If the price is right, then I'm fine with him coming here (and if he doesn't work out soon, buy out his contract and get on with it). I'm fine with Reimer and Scrivens as our tandem only for the fact that it's a shortened season and if we crash and burn, we have good chances at that first overall. On the other hand, another failed season is yet another blow to the organization's chances of landing quality free agents and probably resigning our own quality players that are hitting FA. Double edged sword. I'm a patient person but patience wouldn't even be an issue if we could somehow know that whatever the blueprint is will turn the tide sooner rather than later for us. How long do we have to go without seeing a single playoff hockey game in the ACC?

I think it will be Luongo.

There pretty well has to be a trade. I'm hoping and praying that Nonis was the main guy negotiating with Gillis on a Luongo trade, but if not at least Burke and Poulin are still in the picture.

That said, if Luongo doesn't come to Toronto, I think the favourite is Reimer, followed closely by Rynnas. Scrivens has lacked consistency, so I'll say he is a distant third.

Owuya will spend one more year in the ECHL before getting a promotion to starter for the Marlies next year. His backup will probably be Sparks.

Two of Scrivens, Reimer and Rynnas are probably on their last year with the team.

Luongo. Lots of leaf rumors year after year of players coming to Toronto and it doesn't happen but I have a gut feeling that this one actually happens. MLSE are licking there chops at the amount of luongo merch and jerseys they would sell if he comes to Toronto.

I'll go with Reimer. Nonis was a cautious GM when he was with the Nucks (I also think he was fairly good when he was with the Nucks), I don't see him throwing a bunch of young assets after a 33 year old goalie on a monster contract just so we can *maybe* squeak into the playoffs as 1st round fodder. I think the only way he deals for Luongo is:
a) If the price is actually low
b) If it's simply not his decision, with MLSE forcing his hand

Unfortunately, "b)" could actually be highly possible :(

Is there any possibility that Tim Thomas could be between the pipes for the Leafs?

I really don't believe this is the case but with MLSE it's always a possibility. However, I can't see the Leafs trading a young budding star on D like Gardiner for Luongo, it just makes absolutely zero sense.
