Built what? He inherited this team and took them nowhere. It took him his entire tenure to realize we need grit and then promptly traded more assets to get it because why not we're already down 5 first round picks and almost every 2nd as well. You're already seeing how a hard nosed GM builds a team. We have a legit chance this year and it will only go up with more moves for hard nosed players.

Honestly, most fans know and understand that. There's only a small subsection that don't.

He's been signing/trading for grit the whole time he's been here...

ROR, Acciari, McCabe, Muzzin, Foligno, Clifford, Simmonds, Gio, etc...

We are doing the same thing this year we do every year...

I really don't see how people look at this team and go "this year is different".

I think the results can be different, but this is the same thing we do every year.

If Dubas was here our D would be calling up AHL smurfs and not playing these "long" D we have back there looking incredibly solid.

He traded assets for every single one of the players you listed and retained almost none of them. That isn't building a hard team, that's patching holes.

But it was like a submarine peppered by a machine gun and he patched a couple holes.

So by this you think Dubas was a good team builder? Honestly that is laughable. The proof was in the pudding.
