The biggest clown site with no any insider information in Finland, claims Saros will be traded. I would just bypass this shit, as is. But Elliot talked about it on 32thoughts. Which teams would/should target Saros and what would the return be? He has a caphit of 5m for this and the next season so i think the return has to be pretty big. To me he is currently a top5 goalie in the league, and with that caphit, if Preds gonna move him it's not going to be for scraps.

Would probably require about the same kind of "wow" return for a superstar skater, without regard to the fact that the market acts differently with goaltenders.

I really don't think there's a productive conversation to be had, but stranger things have happened.
Nah i dont think you need to pay a "superstar" skater for 2 years of Saros, but maybe im wrong.

If the Preds were going to move him, it would signify the team was planning a complete scorched-earth type of rebuild. And they aren't going to do that. So, practically speaking anyway, Saros is not available. The price to acquire him would be similar to the price to acquire Shesterkin, Sorokin, etc. And you don't see trade threads popping up about those guys. Nothing is impossible, any player from any team in any situation could theoretically be traded... just... it's just too unlikely, nobody should get invested in the idea of it happening.

I meant the same sort of return that one would get if one was trading such a player. Not such a player coming back straight up, but the sorts of futures and depth roster guys you get when such a guy gets moved. (Getting such a player back straight up would obviously be the impossible ideal, but even in crazytown fantasy land it ain't happening.)

But Saros is small and soft european, just have gotten lucky in the net!

Oh for sure, that's what the Preds would need. A real superstar type of player in return. Probably like one of the top 10 young centers in the entire NHL. And at the same time, just as you say, nobody is going to give that for 2 years of Saros. This is precisely why we say that, practically speaking, he's not available.

We need an absolute stud young player/prospect or top 5 pick, if you're not offering that we're not moving him.

A Seider, Byfield, Clarke, Nemec, etc.

A team like Pittsburgh or Toronto doesn't have what we wan
If that's the approach you're looking to try then you have no hope of getting him.
Was a joke chill man

Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, no one will pay what it would take. Maybe try again next year if Saros decides he's not gonna resign, which i doubt since it's not 1 or 2 or 3 finnish players that have said Nashville is one of the best, if not the best places to be.

In my defence, I hereby cite Poe's Law.
First time i've hear about that horseshit. For a fact i can say at least one finnish NHL player said last summer if he could play anywhere it would be Nashville.

And it was a 1C for his respective team, make that what you want.

Now if only we could actually get those guys in gold, we'd be set. :)
(I was just saying we've seen people make that kind of argument legitimately, so when it's sarcastic it's hard to tell.)

He either won't be traded (by far most likely) or he'll be traded for way less than the comical overpayment the Predators and Predators fans would demand.
I think most of my fellow fanbase are overshooting but it would also be a major disappointment to trade Saros for the trash packages usually offered up for goalies around here. Hence your point 1, I agree, is most likely.

Among finnish NHL'ers Nashville is 100% in the top5 destinations. I know one who has it as his #1. Take it as sarcasm or don't, but im not joking.

Having chatted with a few after the Severson sign-and-trade, I think this is an extraordinarily generous response. :)

But that's probably the sort of thing it'd take to get the Preds listening on Saros. :dunno:

If that's the case, then I see Saros staying in Nashville.
