If manza and beamish are getting playing time and producing good numbers and the team is somewhat successful they will stay until they are 19 and won’t return for their OA year. I just don’t see this team getting to the third round next year and if you trade those guys and get good 17 year olds in return I still think they can win a round and it sets them up better for the following 2 years. All depends on the coaching and who they have in net. If they get bad goaltending and bad coaching they could be out first round even if they keep Fischer and young.
Hope so! That would be best case. Definitely gonna come down to how they are looking come October, November. With this staff still in charge my confidence will plummet.

Still excited though to see a F unit with all these young guys & now the #4 pick. We haven't had this much homegrown/our own picks with this much potential in quite sometime.

Some exciting, fun hockey would be one helluva change of pace from this last 2 seasons. Hope to see it.

Be nice to see the sting pick Sarnia local Defensemen Matthew Henderson or Dante D’Andrea somewhere in the draft. They play for Huron-Perth lakers. Henderson is the better of the two players, he will probably go in rounds 3-5. D’andrea will go later in the draft.

Definitely be nice. @SarniaStingFan mentioned the other day they've let a few locals get by them as of late. Never a fan of drafting them for that reason, but if you have them ranked in that area it's a nice bonus.

Chuckled at 2nd last part. So true lol. Yah this off season & camp will be really interesting.

Brown-Beamish-Karimov
Wainwright-Edwards-Manza
#4Pick-Di Iorio-Kostuch
Luecke

Those are locks id say. Luecke maybe isn't, but I feel like they'll prioritize his grit, size on L4.

Simpson, Gaughan, Chamberlain 17 year olds fighting to make team. Simpson id honestly be surprised if he isn't on the team, but cant say he's a lock. Chamberlain I could see being a solid 4C, but needs a good summer. Gaughan needs a huge summer or he'll be gone.

Then you have if they take a F at pick 26, or 42 + if they take another import F.

Thats up to 14-15 Fs & that's not counting any picks from previous seasons & if they sign anyone from USHL/BCHL.

Fischer-Young
Hurt-O'Brien

Are locks on D. I'd say Barr is close to one, but he needs to take a step. Bridgewater I think could be good, but he doesn't seem to be in Letang's good books. Bodin should be gone same with Omeri.

Neusteter & Garrett should push to make the team + if they use a 2nd on D &/or an import pick on one & if they sign one. So could be up to 8-10 guys fighting.

In net its totally wide open. Maillet I imagine is back. Grovestine, Osipenko push to make it. Past them its an unknown. Doubt a 16 yr old makes it but never know & like Rob I'd like an import G, but they haven't done that in forever. Quinlan a wildcard if he comes.

Definitely gonna be hard decisions to make for Seca. I have a gut feeling one of their USHL/BCHL signings will be a Dman. Which takes a spot from Barr or Bridgewater, or maybe both if one of their '08s have improved. Up front I'd be surprised if they add more than 1 new one (NCAA/Import) because then ur pushing Manza or Kostuch to L4 with the #4 pick. In net I gotta think they bring someone in.

Well my team looks different.
I think there are few departures/trades out of opportunity and Lack of coaching that has shown over past 2 seasons.

Brown beamish manza
OA signing Edwards karimov
NcAA signing di iorio kostuch
4th overall pick Simpson
chamberlain pick 2nd rd
Leuke

D for me look different
Fischer (will ask for a trade by christmass)-hurt
Barr-OA signing
Glavin(trade) 2nd round
NCAA signing possibly keep Bridgwater unless him and Hall trade for Glavin!
Think that will happen.

Import G
Maillet
NCAA goalie signing

believe Young and Wainwright and O'Brien, 2 or all head south to NCAA, best for their own development to leave, best for Sting development to Stay but I believe they won't stay around for another year of the same. Staff let them down IMO and it isn't helping them to play OA year not in this organization the way it is. They move on from Letang there is better chance to stay but still at 50% to stay.

Ya I wouldn’t go out of my way to get them but if they are in the area of where you have them ranked and aren’t a top 3 pick then go for it, especially Henderson.

Interesting to note Jason Williams & Strathroy agreed to mutually part ways yesterday. Somebody we've talked about before.

Could be something. Could be nothing. Something to keep an eye on though maybe.
Ya it’s definitely something to keep an eye on. I don’t think he would be a good candidate, he hasn’t had much success at all in strathroy. Could be the rosters he was given but still a good coach should have a bit more success. If you are going for a coach outside of the OHL Dale Mitchell would obviously be a better choice. Unless they get Williams as an assistant to replace Jeffrey’s. Williams AC, Legwand HC, Marisa or someone else as defence coach.

Letang has been with Seca all OHL cup scouting players. So I doubt it that he gets fired. Just my opinion though.
That’s going to make so many sting fans unhappy, unless he becomes a head scout or assistant GM or director of scouting and he’s helping with the draft in that role. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back as HC with this dumb franchise. I think him and Seca are good buddies so Legwnd might have to get to rid of both.

This boils my blood lol. I hate this organization... I can picture Seca now walking around the arenas like he runs the show and Letang trailing behind looking at the floor. Put me out of my misery already.
Like I said I think Seca and Letang are friends and he will defend Letang no matter what. I think if you want to get rid of Letang you will have to get rid of Seca

Either way our entire organization is in Toronto right now... seca Letang and legwand... Im hoping Caesars gets bounced today so Legwand is in a bad mood and decides to fire them.... You gotta think if nothing happens by Sunday/Monday ish then nothing will happen at all. I simply cannot fathom another year of Alan Letang.... If Seca wants to put his career on the line for Letang then that seems foolish.

If they brought him to the OHL Cup to look at players right before the draft I doubt he’s going anywhere, unless they plan to move him to a management role, director of scouting or something like that. Which I also wouldn’t like because he would want all grinders drafted lol. Seems like Letang is coming back as coach next year, I hope not tho.

Why not have an extra set of eyes to check out prospective draft picks, get his opinion then "deep six" him? They fire coaches mid season, they can get his opinion on players before firing him.

I wouldn’t want his opinion lol, he would just scope out bottom 6 grinders with the least talent and say draft them in the early rounds! Those players are his favourite.

Interesting idea with Glavin. I feel like we will definitely see them find a Dman like him.(Big, mean, physical, stay at home) To replace either Bridgewater or Barr.

Wouldn't do it if it costs much though.

I heard Wainwright and Young have gotten interest. Seca said as much and said both want to stay, but that was back in JAN before the team went south. So never know.

Both would be better off playing T6/top pair PP PK here than NCAA where they'd be B6/3rd pair/in out lineup. IMO anyways. Losing Young especially would be a dagger to the backend.

No doubt if 1 or both move on Seca will aggressively try to replace them with NCAA signings or a trade.

any predictions for OHL playoffs? Obviously LDN is an overwhelming favourite. Think WSR or KIT can do it? East is totally wide open between those top5.

ive got Brampton beating OSH in 7 in a mini upset.
other than that got all high seeds winning.

I do think SSM might put a scare in WSR. FLT will keep it close vs KIT too.

I think it goes WSR V LDN - The east honestly I don't even know ... I don't really pay attention to the east but I'll roll with Oshawa... LDN v Oshawa .... I feel like LDN goes like 16-2 or something crazy these playoffs...

Letang scouting guys (probably).. In 6 years that guy will have 7 goals, be my captain and on line/power 1 ... a must draft.
Funny enough I heard Sarnia really likes Brenner Lammens. Captain of Toronto Red Wings. Seems like a late riser & seen a few rankings/mocks with him in the top 10, but at 4 it would be a surprise.

His hallmarks? Size, Grit, effort, character lol. Think Cole Beaudoin/Bigger Angus MacDonell.

Obviously its early still & them liking him could mean absolutely nothing with them picking T4 now, but made me chuckle when I went to "scout", do research on him. If Seca lets Letang convince them to take him over a super dynamic player I'll very, very upset.

I don't know how to quote someone's message across threads, but this was a response to @OHL4Life by @digicamo mentioning he's heard Kane Barch could be an option at #4 (said still early so definitely no sure thing)

"The rumour that’s been out there for a while was that his dad is also going to coach the Sting as an assistant. Not sure if that’s actually true of course. He also has an outside chance to make the U17 US team so if I was Sarnia I would just wait till the 2nd round and have them say they will only go there as they will have some leverage."

I definitely wouldn't mind hiring Krys Barch, but I wouldn't love hiring him then taking his son 4th overall. He's a great player it sounds like but most have him going between 8-15. Now if you could get him to play games & get him RD2 then sign me up.

Krys was a skating/skills coach for the Buffalo Sabres for 3 years then moved up to development coach for another 3 years before becoming the head coach of Huron Perth Lakers the last 4 seasons.

Feel like whenever Sarnia picks high they overthink it/do something outside the box & it's getting a bit annoying lol. Just take 1 of the kids everyone ranks, mocks, lists as a clear cut top 4 talent.

London likely wins it all again. I think Kitchener has the best chance to knock them out in the West. I love Windsor's roster. They're big and will wear people down over a long series but I don't trust Costanzo.

I could see any of the top five teams winning in the East. Brampton has been playing super well down the stretch. I wouldn't be shocked if they made it to the OHL final.
Buzz are going to have a TON of forwards after this years draft. Di Lorio, Edwards, Brown, Manza, Beamish, Wainwright, Karimov, Maybe Kostuch and whoever we take at 4 are locks to be on the team next year ... that's 9 forwards ... Then add in last year draft guys like Gaughan, Chamberlain and Simpson who will be coming in hot to try and make the roster after playing some games.. Also, I personally think Kosiba will be there ... and then we still have 2 2nd round picks this year who could possibly be Jackman who would probably be a roster lock too. Buzz are going to have to make some tough calls upfront... I cannot state this enough that we simply cannot have Alan Letang behind the bench with this roster. The amount of talent were about to have upfront Letang simply cannot comprehend how to coach it. The top line would probably be Brown Moses and Hall. OHL cup ends soon so you gotta think once that is over The Guy news will be official and shortly after that we will know about the coaching staff.
Getting a power forward like Jackman would be enticing but I hope they don't take any forwards in the second round. They have plenty of depth at forward while they don't have as much on defence and in net. I'd like to see them take 2 d-men or a d-man and the top goalie in the draft with their two second round picks. It's really too bad that there's not a top tier d-man like Jamie Drysdale/Brandt Clarke that the Sting could take at 4. Getting that type of player would have made a lot more sense for the Sting
