Don't worry guys I sent the OHL offices video of our powerplay this yr so they feel great pity for us and rig the lottery to get us 1st!
Hmm.....how about you guys get the 2nd pick?
The Petes were tied with the Sting for the worst PK% but had almost 100 more Pims

Good luck tonight. Quality players for all four lottery teams IMO.

Does anyone know if the draft lottery results carry over to the Import draft and U18 draft? I know they did last year with Windsor. The lottery carries much more significance if that's the case

Well that’s a bummer, should be able to get a good player at 4. Hopefully Seca, Legwand, and Guy can pull off some magic picks and commitments with their connections.

Ill try & get some video done for the consensus top-5. Post them in here once im done it sometime in the next 7-10 days. Give everyone a look at them. Then Sarnia can take someone nobody has top 10 & ill have wasted hours lmao.

If you wanna read up on them the consensus 5 is
Kaden McGregor (C) - Ottawa Valley
Jaakko Wysick (C) - Sun County
Camryn Warren (C) - Toronto JR Canadians
Charlie Murata (W) - Don Mills
Max Delisle (C) - Toronto Titans

And we pick 4th. Why not have this miserable, disappointing year end with us dropping a spot. Perfect cherry on top.

At least from all reports there isn't a clear top player it's more so a clear top 4 so we could still end up picking a kid the staff has ranked #1 or #2.
Still a net even on the lottery the last two years. Could be another team that was doomed in the lottery.

Does seem like a more open choice though, good luck!

I wouldn’t limit the top 5 to those players. Most scout rankings I have seen only had Canadian players on the list. With the new rules I wouldn’t be surprise to see an American or two go in the top 5 or 10. With that being said my pick would be Jaakko Wysick if he’s there at 4, hopefully with our 2nd rounder we can get one of the top 3 players from the little Caesar’s program (Santa Maria, jackman, arnone) if they are still available, I doubt it tho. If we let Bodin walk, do we get a 1st round Import pick or a 2nd round pick? just wondering because he was picked in the 2nd round. Also does anyone have a list of our picks in the upcoming U16 draft?

Well be able to use our 1st in the import. Hell a 2nd too if they go to 3 imports as rumored.

Getting Jackman with our 2nd round pick would be absolutely awesome. Not sure he makes it there, but a hulking, PWF is something we could use to pair with Di Iorio Edwards Karimov Brown Kostuch Manza Beamish & whoever we take at 4.

I wonder if we see Sarnia trade one of their 2nds to next yr. They have so many returning players already & now might be able to add 2 more imports on top of Karimov. There would be no room to add a 1st, two 2nds + 2 imports + a top 4 U18 pick if they hit on that & if Seca is being truthful a NCAA kid or two.

Could see it being useful asset management. They don't have a 2nd next yr (or a 4th) so getting that would be worthwhile IMO. Could be a good trade piece if they go shopping for a 2 year player if the team is looking good & if not at least fills out the cupboard.

Can always send the 2nd and 3rd round players to play in strathroy and use them as calls up, depending how good they are. Kostuch is still a maybe for next year too And like I said before I’d definitely use that 1st round Import pick on a goalie, best way to get an elite goalie. That can start right away.

for sure. I wouldn't be against it! keeps that flow of talent entering the lineup. just wonder if the best management is adding a 2nd next yr with us missing 2nd+4th & hopefully being back in the market for adding.

If they go to 3 imports it would be insane to me to not take a goalie. from what ive read this is a pretty weak OHL draft goalie class. But there's gotta be 3-4 kids who are legit. be great to get one of them.

Ya you could definitely trade a 2nd for a 2nd rounder next year. Could also get a few seconds for next years draft if they trade young/fisher at next years deadline and probably a good 17 year old aswell. We won’t be a top contender next year, I don’t think it we should keep those guys when we can trade them for good 17 year olds and draft picks and go for it the following 2 years. Plus even if we get rid of those guys we should be good enough to have a good 6 or 7 game series or win the first round. That my opinion. Also if we do use our 1st round import on a goalie I’d want him to be a 17/18 year old. Not a 19 year old.

Buzz are going to have a TON of forwards after this years draft. Di Lorio, Edwards, Brown, Manza, Beamish, Wainwright, Karimov, Maybe Kostuch and whoever we take at 4 are locks to be on the team next year ... that's 9 forwards ... Then add in last year draft guys like Gaughan, Chamberlain and Simpson who will be coming in hot to try and make the roster after playing some games.. Also, I personally think Kosiba will be there ... and then we still have 2 2nd round picks this year who could possibly be Jackman who would probably be a roster lock too. Buzz are going to have to make some tough calls upfront... I cannot state this enough that we simply cannot have Alan Letang behind the bench with this roster. The amount of talent were about to have upfront Letang simply cannot comprehend how to coach it. The top line would probably be Brown Moses and Hall. OHL cup ends soon so you gotta think once that is over The Guy news will be official and shortly after that we will know about the coaching staff.

Ya if you get some absolute studs in the first couple of rounds like di Iorio and edwards, you might have to even move on from guys like wainwright or kostuch. I don’t think Kosiba will be coming im not sure if he is even good enough to play in our top 9 he hasn’t produced or even played a lot the last couple of years, he probably wouldn’t be a good 4th liner. I don’t think gaughan will be here unless he makes a massive jump, luecke will be a lock on the 4th line, id imagine chamberlain and Simpson will be on the 4th aswell, that would be a good sized, fast line.

I feel like we may debate this all summer & into next season, aha.

If next years team is good & competing for home ice (my expectations) it'll be a tough decision. They could add two years players that'll help them win a round, or two next yr & be back the following yr where we hope to be a contender & all that playoff experience could be big.

Or you trade Fischer, Young next yr for a haul & likely become a RD1 exit but get a ton of assets for the following yr. Why I worry about that is that's when Beamish is pegged to leave & if Manza is back next yr he'd probably be pegged to leave too. + Wainwright gone.

I really do think a 2 yr window could be had here, but they need to develop well, be coached better & the guys they bring in #4 pick, Import pick, NCAA signing have to be impactful. If we get 10-20 games into next season & things aren't looking great then ill fully be on the boat to sell them off.

I think outside WSR next yr there isn't a big time team. LDN should take a step back. ER loses big players + maybe Schaefer. Sag could lose Misa, Chernyshov + good OAs. KIT should get worse, but remain solid. OS still rebuilding, GUE could lose Luchanko + Katzin even with them not great. SSM should be similar to us. FLT will be mid since that's there new norm.

So opportunity could be there.

Chuckled at 2nd last part. So true lol. Yah this off season & camp will be really interesting.

Brown-Beamish-Karimov
Wainwright-Edwards-Manza
#4Pick-Di Iorio-Kostuch
Luecke

Those are locks id say. Luecke maybe isn't, but I feel like they'll prioritize his grit, size on L4.

Simpson, Gaughan, Chamberlain 17 year olds fighting to make team. Simpson id honestly be surprised if he isn't on the team, but cant say he's a lock. Chamberlain I could see being a solid 4C, but needs a good summer. Gaughan needs a huge summer or he'll be gone.

Then you have if they take a F at pick 26, or 42 + if they take another import F.

Thats up to 14-15 Fs & that's not counting any picks from previous seasons & if they sign anyone from USHL/BCHL.

Fischer-Young
Hurt-O'Brien

Are locks on D. I'd say Barr is close to one, but he needs to take a step. Bridgewater I think could be good, but he doesn't seem to be in Letang's good books. Bodin should be gone same with Omeri.

Neusteter & Garrett should push to make the team + if they use a 2nd on D &/or an import pick on one & if they sign one. So could be up to 8-10 guys fighting.

In net its totally wide open. Maillet I imagine is back. Grovestine, Osipenko push to make it. Past them its an unknown. Doubt a 16 yr old makes it but never know & like Rob I'd like an import G, but they haven't done that in forever. Quinlan a wildcard if he comes.

Definitely gonna be hard decisions to make for Seca. I have a gut feeling one of their USHL/BCHL signings will be a Dman. Which takes a spot from Barr or Bridgewater, or maybe both if one of their '08s have improved. Up front I'd be surprised if they add more than 1 new one (NCAA/Import) because then ur pushing Manza or Kostuch to L4 with the #4 pick. In net I gotta think they bring someone in.

If manza and beamish are getting playing time and producing good numbers and the team is somewhat successful they will stay until they are 19 and won’t return for their OA year. I just don’t see this team getting to the third round next year and if you trade those guys and get good 17 year olds in return I still think they can win a round and it sets them up better for the following 2 years. All depends on the coaching and who they have in net. If they get bad goaltending and bad coaching they could be out first round even if they keep Fischer and young.
