I think Seca should stay around... I have been happy with his drafts... I think he may have dropped the ball with Brown over Nesbitt but other than that I think he's been decent... But his leash is getting short for sure. What else really needs to be said here. This coaching staff and possibly Seca all need to be out of a job. Too bad for us long suffering sting fans....Maybe one day we will get it right.
I say possibly because of decisions on coaching. I also don't mind some of the work he's done, but if he keeps letang and Jeffries then he Cleary has no clue.I think Seca should stay around... Ya Legwand* lolim going to assume you mis-spoke when you said Letang is an owner? Unless I missed something.
Please be someone with high hockey knowledge that wont settle for sub par.I'm hearing new ownership is coming and coming soon.... with that you gotta think the house will be cleaned.... I am unsure if the entire team will be sold or what. But I heard that this morning from a pretty good source close to the team. We will see.
I actually hope Legwand stays on as a part owner, just so the organization has more money to work with and his ties to Michigan hockey (especially little Caesar’s). He is also a good hockey mind, seemed good at running the forward/powerplay a few years ago when he was on the bench. He has also been coaching his son’s team and they are lighting it up. I would definitely assume it’s Mark Guy as people have said before, he would be good since he was a Newport hockey agent that was an agent for elite OHL and NHL players over the years, I think he is a managing partner at finch ford now so I assume he lives in sarnia now. So he would be close by. He was an agent for Perry, stamkos, konecny, pietrangelo, Tom Wilson, horvat, subban brothers and strome brothers among a lot of others.I'm hearing new ownership is coming and coming soon.... with that you gotta think the house will be cleaned.... Karimov was a fine player all year, Letang glued his ass to the bench most of the year and he played on he 4th with grinders. He played maybe 20 games in the top 6 and rarely on the powerplay, no way he can produce offensively like that. Bodin was a dud but he was a second rounder I’m not as dissapointed by that. But last few years there have been bad selections. Vilmanis was good and limpar lantz was solid but I think he was a second rounder aswell. Had a couple duds before them like geci, Malyavin, hjorth and Berka. Definitely need to do better, and actually played them and put them in a spot for success, half the players they bring over sit on the bench or the 4th then go home. Most don’t even get a chance when they should.most people would have been ok with a 7th place finish ,just to get the young guys some playoff atmosphere but with the way the season unfolded , so many bad losses and points lost with OT's and shootouts , incomprehensible coaching decisions LET THE PURGE BEGIN. Our results with the import picks last few years, totally underwhelming. They just cause empty holes in roster
Hard to say if he dropped the ball, Nesbitt has a better coaching staff, and wayyyy better players around him than brown does. I think next year will tell us if brown is bust or not.I think Seca should stay around... I have been happy with his drafts... I wrote a bad comment about the coaching staff on their Twitter and Instagram posts. On the stings Facebook page, the post thanking the fans, the two most liked comments by far both said Fire Letang lol.
Agreed. Would like Legwand to stay although id imagine he isn't. Least Guy should be respected & have some connections, too.I actually hope Legwand stays on as a part owner, just so the organization has more money to work with and his ties to Michigan hockey (especially little Caesar’s). Add to that , some size .Didnt realize Sarnia fell all the way to 3rd last. So we will have the 3rd best odds (20%) in the lottery which is probably Wednesday. from everything I gather there isn't 1 clear cut kid. Actually seems like there is a group of 4-5 at the top before a gap.
Pretty F heavy from what I gather so probably a F. I'll dive in once the lottery is done, but perfect world to me would be a high IQ, skilled, playmaker that could pair with Edwards as getting him a gifted passer could make for quite a special duo one day.
According to @OHL4Life, there's a clear cut top 4 and they're all forwards. Max Delisle (Toronto Titans, 6'1"/181 lbs), Charlie Murata (Don Mills Flyers, 6'/177 lbs), Camryn Warren (Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 5'9"/151 lbs), and Jaakko Wycisk (Sun County Panthers, 6'/180 lbs) are the names to look out forDidnt realize Sarnia fell all the way to 3rd last. I seen this on Twitter it was posted at the end of January, could have changed slightly. I’d definitely want a guy that 6’0 and over. 6’2 would be nice, definitely need abit of size and speed.According to @OHL4Life, there's a clear cut top 4 and they're all forwards. I don't mind the size up front currently with Di Iorio, Edwards, Karimov, Manza, Luecke being 6'0" - 6'2" + Brown, Beamish, Kostuch are 5'11". How sweet would it be if Di Iorio and/or Edwards grew some more? Be that much more lethal!Add to that , some size .
You know we've spent the last 3-4 weeks wanting to miss & being happy with losses & now that we've missed it really is a firm reminder of who we root for.
This is 3 out of 4 seasons where at seasons end we've been rooting for the team to lose. I'm not saying that as a shot as us more so at the team & myself really.. I thought they were heading in the right direction under Seca, Letang, Legwand etc, but I was very wrong.
It's a 10 team conference. They've missed 2 in a row & almost 3 out of 4. Thats embarrassing. Last year I didnt care because after 2023 a huge falloff was expected. Esp post deadline. This yr though? completely unacceptable & ppl need to be held accountable.
They added 2 elite 16 yr olds, their #1 C, #4 D from the BCHL + Karimov was a solid addition & their goaltending despite the #s was rather good most of the year + guys like Fischer, Young, Brown took big steps production wise
With all that they improved a remarkable 3 points..... 3.... That feels almost impossible with how awful last years team was with guys like Way playing top minutes.
This team I clearly overrated to begin with, but nobody can convince me they shouldn't of been a playoff team. Especially exiting January when they were playing great hockey & were substantially closer to 5th than 9th.
The coaches of this hockey team should be fired & I don't think its arguable/debatable. you cant preach accountability as an org & not hold the coaches accountable after failing these kids & the fans.
I could go on for hours & I probably will this week lol, but ill leave it at that for now.
Wish being on here was a bit more fun this year. We were doom & gloom for half the season thanks to the on ice product sadly. Still enjoy talking hockey with yall & hope u enjoy the off season! Cheers!
I actually predicted them finishing 10th-12th place overall. You know we've spent the last 3-4 weeks wanting to miss & being happy with losses & now that we've missed it really is a firm reminder of who we root for.

to my knowledge - zero cap, considering the entire CHL has a strategic goal to capture as many american players / american markets as reasonably possible IMO.Is there a cap on how many American players you can have on a roster? If not I think there should be, because next year London as it stands now should be a 5,6 team based on their roster after all their talent leaving this year. (You know they will be better because they are the knights). But with these new rules you know the knights will have American top prospects lining up to play for them more than ever. Which I think will give them even more of an advantage at bringing top American prospects over and realistically they could have 1/2 to 3/4 of top American prospects on a team if they wanted to, when majority if not all of the rest of the teams couldn’t do that. Also this is the Canadian hockey league , supposed to be developing Canadian players not Americans. I would put a cap on the amount you can have on a roster. (If there isn’t one already)
Without first hand knowledge, the stats seem about right for a team that finished 3rd worst in the league. It's pretty insane just how bad the 2024-2025 Sting were in so many areas.
Goals for - 3rd last with 197 - 2.8 per game average
Goals against - 3rd last with 286 - 4.2 per game average
PP - 13.9% - Dead last - Only 37 PPG - Allowed 12 SHG
PK - 73.5% - Dead last - 70 PPGA - 1.02 per game average
Time shorthanded - 264 times - 6th most - 4 penalties a game average
Shots allowed - 2,269 - 5th most - 33.5 per game
OT/SO record - 5-13 - Dead last - most losses of any team by 3
Shootout shot % - 6-29 - 0.207% - 3rd worst - worst among teams who were in more than 5
Not gonna spend the time, but I guarantee they were bottom 5 in 4on4 goal differential.
Same with blown 3rd period leads. I'd bet money they were top 3 for most blown leads.
I'm sure there are even more stats they are at the bottom for, but that's all I can think of right now. If you don't count individual stats/performances this team had 0 redeeming qualities. Insanity.
