I'm really intrigued to see how Seca approaches the deadline this year. Even if this teams turns it around to what we hoped, at best they come 6th & lose to LDN/WSR/KIT/ER round 1. I've never been a believer in "staying the course" / standing pat. No matter where you sit or what your aspirations are for that season.

How I see it

Moses - 19. Doesn't bring much offense. Was playing well w/10/15, but ive liked Luecke there too & he's 17.

Johnston - Also 19. As we've discussed his play & effort has fallen off a cliff & he doesn't play the style this team wants too. Issue is can u get close to what u gave up?

Omeri - 18. They have so many D & with Bridgewater really solidifying a spot im not sure where he fits especially when Barr gets healthy. Wouldn't get much in return but he deserves to play elsewhere.

Filak & Doucette - OAs. I don't see either being dealt. Both are solid OAs, but not elite ones. At most I think a team maybe hits them up last minute if one of their OAs are really weak & offers an ok pick for one of them.

Wainwright - 19. Really tough choice. He's their best F most nights. Plays a lot. Great leader/mentor for the young guys. Gonna be back next yr & be a really quality OA. Issue is they have Beamish/Edwards/Di Iorio at C & its making them move 81 to wing which isn't what we want long term, but flip side is do you want our Cs to be 17/16/16 years old? For a good return I think id do it.

Young - 19. Similar to Wainwright but on D. Their entire defence can return next season including Young. With O'Brien added Barr likely is the 7th D & we want him playing consistently. This team is significantly better when he's in & playing. He's gonna be a really good OA D imo. I think quite a few teams would be in on him if he was available.. I have more concern dealing him than Wainwright honestly, but for a really solid return I think id be fine with them doing it.

Fischer - 18. I don't see it happening, but if a team comes in & offers a substantial return (1st rounder from last yr or this yr + two 2nds + two 3rds) I wouldn't blame them for taking it.

As for adding. I think like always they will be poking around for project/reclamation type guys. Mainly at F & with some size. I do wonder if they'd be in on those goalies I mentioned weeks back (Hrebik/Hillebrandt/Egerov) so they have some certainty for G the next 2 seasons.

Not as clear of a deadline as Seca has had previously (last yr clear selling off, yr before clearly adding, yr before selling softly), but I do wanna see some moves.

Club seating is slightly better because your view is overtop of the glass and it’s in the neutral zone, only a few bucks extra. Regular seating is the ends and corners or lower seats looking through the glass/extensions

My understanding anyways

someone will probably know, but I wanna say club seating is if you are sitting in the top 3or4 rows of a section. Also more padding on them.

edit: What Rob said, haha.

Fair warning, some fans have been complaining this year the new glass they put in really hurts the viewing experience if you sit lower. So if you don't care about spending some extra, club seating is probably the way to go.
Thanks guys I appreciate it!

Thanks StingUpdates that's very good summation of assets I do also have a Trade Euro in this years trades.
I think euro for euro maybe or just Bodin.
I've seen way too many nights where he hurts us with his effort and lax style, just ins't developing or changing intio that big strong stay home tough mean D player. If we can get him to model his game after OBrien we would be laughing.
I don't see it and DS has moved imports over the last bunch of years. This could be interesting. But again Don't see it happening.
Lastly Does DS move Surzyvia to get bunch of picks teams do like their proven 2 goalies going into Playoffs?
Again don't see it but never know if something jumps at him.

Would some prospects be on table?
Kostuch?
Hall?
This team is in desperate need of Big strong RW that can play top 6, losing a bunch next year?

Think Wainwright and young will be the carrots this trade season and only 1 is going if any, either young or wainwright not both but Johnston's days are numbered here and if can get a 5th-9th pick he will be gone.
Let's hope we get what we need for next few years
Hoping for a few moves but this team desperately needs to make the playoffs and trading may make impact on that.

Next 2 games could be huge in deciding moves.

Quick question regarding seating at the Stings arena. What is the difference between the regular seating and the club seating?
To SU’s and rob’s point, I recommend club seating. Somewhere near the middle of the ice on either side towards the top of any of the club sections is an awesome viewing experience.

I do find my view a little obstructed when I sit closer to the glass

The firing of Haley maybe ruffled some feathers and provided a bit of a wake up call for all. Something had to be done. Not sure if it will be enough but it's good to finally see some life out of this team. 5/6 pts, albeit against weaker opponents is a good start.

Article in the Observer mentions how the Sting have a .654 winning percentage with both Young and Fischer in the lineup, 6th best in the league. When one or both are missing, the team has a .238 winning percentage. Really speaks to the importance of those two and what they mean night in and night out for this club. Be nice to get a good stretch of games in with both them healthy to see how viable that .654 wining percentage really is. Both looked really good over the weekend.

Beamish/Brown combo coming alive and looking real good. Brown playing with that pre-season spark he had. He's looked dangerous and we can thank his old buddy Beamish for providing that spark. Filak has been a nice veteran presence for the pair. Think we finally found a line that is worthy of sticking together for more than a game or two.

Karimov continues to be under utilized. I think they are just taking it slow with Di Iorio for now since the injury, or at least I hope that's the case. Johnston out of the line up certainly seems to do more good than harm. Thinking maybe it's time for Seca to find a place for him and Moses elsewhere if possible. Keep the focus on the youth. Not sure there is a spot for Surzycia anywhere else as an OA. He is this teams MVP currently and has given much value to this young developing team in front of him. He would be the difference between us battling for 6th/7th compared to missing the playoffs completely without him. Think we see some tweaks with the forward group but that's about it.

LDN picks up Cam Allen. For an 07 Dman 2x 2nds 2x 3rds 2x 4ths and a 5th. I know Allen is drafted so that makes the price go up a bit. But can't help but think if that's the price for him. Then Youngs price can't be to far off. This kinda makes me wanna trade him if that's the price LDN is paying others may over pay for Young then.

Has anyone heard how Kostuch is doing?
He's at home now waiting further tests.

Beamish OHL Rookie of the Week.
Our young team keeps racking up these awards.
4th time this yr we've won that award..great to see. If Karimov got consistent ice time I bet he'd of won one of those too haha.

Allen is a former top pick + drafted & was just at Canada WJC camp. Young wouldn't fetch nearly as much, but that was a surprising amount even with what I just said.

Especially from LDN who's within the division & already has an elite dcore.

But I don't disagree. I'm guessing Young would have legitimately high value in a trade. He'll be back as an OA too. Something for DS to ponder!

Agree with everything. Along with firing Haley I gotta think Legwand might've told Letang he needed to wake up too. I honestly don't recall seeing a coach completely changing his on the bench attitude/way of operating out of nowhere like Letang has & I don't imagine he'd do it without being told his job could be on the line.

Yah this team is an entirely different group with Fischer & Young in the lineup. One could argue they are our 2 best players. Fischer is our best & a lot of nights when Fischer was out Young was our best. They aren't intimidated or overwhelmed by other players or teams. They are our 2 best defenders & 2 of our best offensive players. It slots Hurt into 2nd pair where he's much better, pushes Bodin down where he's better. Helps PP & PK. Helps literally everything.

Now will it matter vs top teams? Guess we'll find out this week. Not expecting a win, but can they keep the games close? Be a step up from all of our other meetings with KIT & LDN.

Definitely taking it slow with Di Iorio which slightly puzzles me because its not like he was out 2 months. It was 1 weekend he missed. His unwillingness to play Karimov is dumbfounding. Really is. Above all else it's disappointing because he's an exciting, talented kid & if he leaves i'll be pretty irate. With Kostuch uncertainty they cant afford Karimov bailing because the coach refuses to play him.

I worry they've found some lines that work & he's loving this 3rd line a little to much that he's gonna keep 17/19 as the 4th line for a while now.. Especially if he isn't gonna put Johnston back in & if Moses is out a couple weeks.

Hello again everyone. I have gotten tickets to the game tomorrow and was looking to see if anyone had some recommendations for where to grab a meal before the game? Thanks in advance!

Bains BBQ across the street from the rink is solid, lil expensive

Crabby Joe's is solid
Stokes inland
Bad dog is good

There is also a restaurant inside the arena. People like to eat in there before puck drop. Can't say I've had the food since they renovated it a few years back though.

Not expecting a win tonight, but man would it be nice. Would give them some really good confidence heading into the break. Hopefully Kitchener starts their backup because Parsons has been maybe the leagues best goalie so far lol. Very least hope we keep it close & can bring the game to them at times unlike the last meeting which was as easy a win & shutout KIT has probably ever had.

Well, all I can say is pp needs to be better than has and get 2 pp goals(major stretch here) 3rd line needs to hit everything brig the energy and 1st 2 need to produce period.
4th line with Di iorio and karimov and either Wainwright doucette filak if going to get some good match ups so hopefully they have a game. Think it will be a close game if D play D. If they get goal hungry and caught in rush will be a long night.
Defense is the key.
But at end of it Letang gets outcoached on adjustments like usual tonight.
4-3 loss
