WOW. what a fantastic pick-up for Sarnia. Sasha is an absolute stud. IMO he is exactly what this team needs. The West is wide open there is no excuse for this group not to make a legit run. Martone got his first of the year too... good sign. The boys seemed to have a jump in their step vs Windsor. Good game all around too. Now lets hope we can get attendance up and have the hive bumping.

He’s a really awkward looking skater, but he gets from point A to point B just fine. What he has is FINISH, which has been sadly lacking in many games this year. Great pickup!!
I like the Fischer kid too. Kept it simple all game.

For a recently turned 16 yr old on 1 days notice he did very well. Especially vs such a solid team. Promising Dman for us. Has a lot of tools to work with.
Young has impressed me too. He's a fantastic skater & moves it very well. Still has things to work on defensively but he isn't bad at it by any means.

No disrespect to Doyle, but I wish Cunningham was the TV guy, too. He's awesome.
Should be another solid game. Barrie has a lot of talent & you know Thornton is gonna wanna show out vs his former club.
Expecting a low scoring game tonight. Gaudreau and Thornton will be trying to outduel each other.
Fischer looks good too.... typical Sarnia to mis-spell his last name.... first time ive seen a Sarnia d man wheel around the net and snap a pass on the tape up the ice.... I may be mistaken but doesn't Sarnia have another 2nd round pick? They may not be done.

Excellent first period for Sarnia. Lantz & Fischer (!) With the goals. Unfortunately Burke took a huge hit high. Was bleeding & didn't look good coming off the ice.
Good on Lantz to stand up for him. Hopefully, Burke is okay.. MacDonell came out HOT the next shift & destroyed 2 Colts players. This one might get nasty.

if Sikic had ANY scoring touch this would be 4 or 5 to nothing. hes had 3or4 unreal looks.
2-1 after two. Should've been up more than 2 before Barrie got going & weren't. Thornton & Gaudreau both been fantastic. Burke has not come back.
Thornton really keeping BAR in it right now. been a lopsided 3rd but we cant get the insurance goal. wide open net for Sikic & he cant control the puck. My guy.. come on..

In the least surprising event of the night, Thornton steals the game for Barrie lol. Sarnia 100% deserved the W tonight. thoroughly dominated that 3rd period & somehow didn't score once. Unbelievably dumb penalty by Filak at the end costs them in OT.
Not sure what else to say about Sikic. Dude had upwards of 5 glorious scoring chances & didn't convert once. If he does we win. Another strong showing for Fischer & Young. Really like what I see.
Burke never returned so fingers crossed its nothing serious but it didn't look good. back at it tomorrow. Been 2 tight, hard checking games. Good start will be huge.

Can the Sting please catch one break with injuries?
Was in Barrie tonight. Great representation from Sarnia bus trip. Once Burke got hit, and hit HARD, the game turned nasty. We got burned on a couple bad calls that turned the game but Sarnia def deserved to win this one. Thornton was both very good and very lucky. Standouts for me include Sikic (as said earlier lots of chances but not finish), MacDonell was an animal, never backed down and could also have scored a couple as well, Ritchie played hard as did MacDonald and Doucette. In hard games I find too many guys disappear and that could be trouble for playoffs. Get a W in Oshawa and it will be a great weekend.

The camera work was putrid, from your angle was the tying goal goalie interference? Gaudreau seemed rather upset.
I thought they reacted pretty well to the nastiness. Laid some big hits themselves. Certainly miss Romeo, Dillingham & Hoover in games like that. It definitely effects Voit who I thought struggled again. He's trying to do to much. Tho he & Pastujov had some near misses more than a few times.

When MacDonell scores it comes in bunches lol. Great to see. Voit & Pastujov are dancing today. Toying with Oshawa at times.
