Big 2 points. Surzycia is first star in my opinion. He kept us in it that first 30 mins when we were flat. 5-6 big time saves, big time in the final moments...another very strong performance from him. Very pleasant surprise.

Such a weird game. The bounces ended up STILL going our way in the end after going 0 for 6 on the PP. Not gonna beat a dead horse, it's got to get better asap. It's cost us games and almost cost us this one. But hey, 5v5 we are great and the PK was 6/6!

Romeo was a monster tonight. Agree about it being his best game. Can't wait for Mast to get back. Now that we have Kyrou, Mast has no excuse not to be that complete stay at home d-man. He won't, or at least shouldn't be seeing any PP time going forward. Should really shore things up and calm things down.

Big way to head into the break. Hopefully it's a green light for Mast and Hoover come the London home & home. Excited to see what this team does on and off the ice over the next month heading into the last half.

Time to switch the colours to red and cheer our boy Ben and team Canada on!

Instant validation for Seca with Kyrou. He was everywhere tonight. Man is he fun. Even after just 2 days with us I thought tonight he was way more calculated & smart with his pinches. Great puck movement & what wheels for his goal. Hopefully with 14 days off he gets chemistry with 36&96 & we can finally get a half decent power play out there. would make a gigantic difference. He's a game changer though.

Massive props to the PK lately. On more than one occasion this yr they've had to kill off PPs (5on3s too) to end regulation. Some awesome blocks, stick tie-ups & clears. Since Romeo's return it's been much better which tells u his worth.

Team was flat & on the verge of being blown out but Pastujov really got them going. drew a few penalties then a big goal to get us on the board. criminal he's not on USAs roster. But we will gladly take him. What a clinic Sikic & Lantz put on before the GWG. Well deserved G&A for them too. If only Sikic had ANY scoring touch the ending wouldn't of been so damn nerve wracking lol.

I owe Surzycia an apology as he's been awesome (outside 2or3 starts). Especially vs Flint & Barrie. With the lack of good backups I think we stick with him & honestly he's earned it. If Ben comes back & struggles again Nick should get more starts.

Enter the break winning 2 in a row & 3of4 with points in 6 of the final 8. Up to 38 points which currently is good for 4th, just 4 points back of 1st! And dare I say we finally.... are.... (hopefully I remember how to spell this)..... healthy????? Mast, Hoover should be back after the break then Ben & Sandis back after the WJCs! Gonna be a fun 2nd half.

As Ferda said time to cheer on Ben & team Canada before we finally see the red hot Knights. Been a lot of fun chats in this thread so far & hope y'all have a great Christmas & holiday season! :bee:

Ya I think if sarnia gets a top line Centreman and get healthy they are ready to go. Suryzcia has got better and better. He tore up junior C last year like brochu did before playing for the knights. If he can keep up this solid play and give us a chance to win games we don’t need to get another goalie.

That Romeo PK note interested me so I looked at the numbers:

The Sting PK with Romeo in the lineup: 82.7%
The Sting PK without Romeo in the lineup: 70.7%

Huge difference!

Nice to see I'm not a total idiot haha. Felt like a noticeable difference & it is. He's just so long. Breaks up a ton of passes. What a reclamation job by the staff. Went from complete disaster to steady T4, stud PKer.

Love the potential of our D when Mast is back. Top-5 of Mast/Kyrou/Ritchie/Romeo/Dillingham is very very good & deep.

Romeo is better when he's less noticeable. I think the coaching staff has done a really good job molding him into a physical shutdown d-man. Any offence from him (like tonight) is a bonus.

Think we are all in agreement the need for a legit centre. My issue is with costs seemingly getting more & more expensive there's a strong chance it costs us MacDonell.

Especially with us unable to match FLT/WSR/OTT/LDN/MISS/BAR for draft picks to offer we'd have to add something to surpass them in value..

Part of me is on the thought process of if ur going for it u go for it, but the other part of me thinks nobody currently available is worth him + picks & we'd be drastically overpaying & parting with a real heart & soul player.

For me i think Seca should do everything he can to try & get a legit C without giving up MacDonell & if he can't search the market for maybe an under the radar guy who maybe has solid #s but with Pastujov, Vilmanis he explodes. not sure who fits that bill but there's gotta be guys like that around the league

Kelton was a good OHL D and great hitter imo. Unfortunately his last name made him the target of everything wrong with the Sting at that time.

Heartbreaking news. Especially in a week with so much excitement for the players to be heading home finally.

So easy to forget they are just kids who go months on end without seeing their families.

Condolences to his family, friends & LDNs entire organization.

Absolutely love stuff like this. Tells u a lot about a teams character. In all 3 wins vs Flint they've had to kill off late PPs (including a major + two separate 5on3s) & killed them off in large part due to stuff like this.

Love how excited the group was & appreciative they were of the PK guys & Surzycia. Can tell its a really tight group, especially with how often they've been sticking up for one another.

Thanks for posting this highlight reel. No passengers out there; these guys were giving it for the win. They’re getting to be great to watch.

I absolutely hate their announcer, just has to throw in the sting hold on to beat a “short handed “ fire birds team. Sting were without 3 very important players on their lineup aswell.

I chuckled at that too. 99% of the OHL commentators are biased but some more than others. He calls a solid game & I like his enthusiasm, but he goes a bit overboard at times with being a Homer.

All game he was refusing to give us credit for stuff. Called us lucky & that we are getting every bounce & call. Mentioned a few times how Flint's "dominated" us this season & how Sarnia struggles vs them when that game was only the first or second time this year we've played them with a fairly healthy lineup.

You'd have 0 clue we were still missing Mast, Hoover, Vilmanis & Gaudreau. Not to mention we are 3-3-1 against them despite all the guys we've been without in prior meetings. Been far from one-sided outside the one game.

Honestly a shame we got so banged up because it was legitimately looking like a bitter rivalry but when u lose as many guys as we did + Othmann got traded it destroyed the bitterness to the games. Be interesting to see what FLT does the next 2 weeks. With the right additions they'll be an incredibly dangerous team.

Hello Sting fans
Tonight I am reaching out to the broader hockey family and communities not as a London Knights fan, but as a concerned human being. As you know, one of our Knights players died tragically this past Saturday. His friends, family and the community are devastated.
Please consider donating to the GoFundMe page set up by his family to help with the funeral arrangements.
Thank you

Hi again.
Seems the page has been taken down for some reason.
The Knights are checking into it with the family right now. Please stay tuned.

Gaudreau gets the nod vs Slovakia tonight. Should be a bit more of a test then what Milic faced vs the Swiss. I know HC has it's own formula they use for goalies or whatever, but you gotta think Ben will need to post a shutout as well to give himself a shot at getting game 1. Every number under the sun points to Milic being the better goalie though....will be interesting to see how this situation pans out.

Hockey Canada really loves Ben tho from the U18’s and Milic was his backup there. I don’t think he needs to get a shutout, all depends on if he gets more shots and good scoring chances against than the Swiss did with milic. I think if Canada is challenged more by the Slovaks and Ben keeps it under 2 and doesn’t let any aweful or bad goals in it will still be tight. I guess whoever plays against Finland in the final exhibition game will be the starter.

I'm just hoping he has good showing. Whether he's back up or starter. Just build up his confidence. If he has a terrible event on a national stage his confidence could be absolutely destroyed.
