i agree I wouldn’t consider trading the goalies until the start of December that way it will give the league time to see our goalies play, and it will give us time to evaluate both our goalies and see what the market is like for them and also it will give Grover 2-3 months in junior B which he needs.Problem is if Gaudreau were to go down this early in the season then you got no backup with experience - and you would be rushing Grovers development- Let things shake out for some of the contenders and by the chatter on other teams sites they are looking for a goalie- therefore let them get desperate and price goes up!
Probably need a NHL caliber goalie for next year when brochu leaves. Thornton can back up this year and start next.We always need everything lol But in all seriousness we could use a high end backup.
Thx, but we already have one.Does London need an NHL calibre goalie ?
Thornton can be a very good back up for brochu this year and a NHL caliber starter next year when brochu leaves. Unless Onuska is going to be your go to guy next season. LolThx, but we already have one.
Not expecting it. I'm hesitant to believe Letang & Staubitz butted heads. In every interview they've said they expect Brad back once he is done at home. Are you guys potentially getting back Jacob Perreault this year, or is he done since he played over 20 games in the AHL??

Also gonna say there is no world where they deal Gaudreau. Took him 7th overall. He's a top 3 goalie & he'll be back next year.
I imagine Thornton gets in 7-10 starts so teams can see him. Be really interesting to see the return. For Kooy we got some solid picks & he wasn't having a good season. So hopefully he plays well & we get a solid return.
Agree with this 10000%. Sarnia never gets big hauls for players. They always hang onto tradeable players and are mediocre. It's like they're scared of getting last place so they settle for 2nd last. This I believe the reason the Sting have never won. Who is the last top level Sting player that they have traded away? The Sting have made big trades in the past always acquiring top level talent but they never trade them away. I also agree that there is no way they trade Gaudreau, but I really hope Seca entertains the thought. The return would be huge and could set up this team better for next year than they currently are.

Owen Sound moved Suzuki and Phillips and another D that slips my mind on the name 2 years ago. Probably their biggest selloff to date. It's not just Sarnia that chooses not to sell big. Owen Sound, Soo among other teams that choose not to consistently.
You have to remember they would have dealt a top level player last season in a normal circumstance. They would have traded Rees last year and possibly Perreault this year if they weren't doing well at the deadline. Both probably would have gotten you a 16/17 yr old and lots of picks. This I believe the reason the Sting have never won. Who is the last top level Sting player that they have traded away? There’s a good chance Brochu could return as a OAThornton can be a very good back up for brochu this year and a NHL caliber starter next year when brochu leaves. Unless Onuska is going to be your go to guy next season. Lol

Ya but the difference is he could be a backup on a contender this year and could go deep in playoffs and next year he would be the starter when brochu goes to the AHL, rather then be back up to gaudreau this year AND next year. Not bad for a guy making his OHL debut tonight at 18 years old.If Thornton gets traded it won’t be to a team that’s going to have him as a back up. That’s the whole reason why he would be moved to begin with……London makes zero sense as an option.
Not saying it’s going to happen I’m just saying it could and if I was him I wouldn’t be that upset you get a chance to win and no matter what you will be a starter.Ya but the difference is he could be a backup on a contender this year and could go deep in playoffs and next year he would be the starter when brochu goes to the AHL, rather then be back up to gaudreau this year AND next year. He’s played a game in the AHL, and he’s definitely getting signed as a free agent, not a chance he plays as an OA next year.why would brouchu leave? hes not drafted or signed.
This also depends how good Thornton is, just because he signed an NHL contract to a shitty organization after very little sample size in rookie camp and one period of an exhibition game doesn’t mean he’s proven, if he can prove he can be a legit starter and steal games in this league like gaudreau can or close to gaudreaus level then I’d entertain it. But if he’s just an average starter then I wouldn’t entertain it. Lights out goalies get you far in playoffs. This I believe the reason the Sting have never won.
