During 6 of their last 7 losses, they had a lead at some point in the 3rd period and managed to get only 1 point out of those games.

At first I was okay with the results as a lottery pick helps us big time long term, while the team still looks somewhat competitive on most nights.

Lately it’s frustrating and I think the team is getting frustrated as well, especially #71 is showing signs of frustration.

Anyhow, if you wanna make a lot of bucks, just wait till the Sharks have a 3rd period lead and bet on a loss…

I generally stay away from sports betting but I was kicking myself for not betting against the sharks when they were up a goal in some of their most recent games

Most teams competing for that pick historically suck in all three periods of the game.

they knew damn well what they were doing by taking Georgiev. Its still early in the rebuild and they should still be going for high picks in the draft.

but rebuilds can take a full decade, and you usually need several high picks to build that true contender. Theyre doing it right.

That’s a bit rich given that the Leafs played Garrett Sparks into the ground the year Matthews was available.

Ideal for the team to lose and be competitive. We’ve played a brutal 6 game stretch. However, losing like this has to be brutal.

We had to take back Georgiev to get good value on Blackwood, I knew this would be required, and Blackwood rightly assessed his market- we couldn’t keep him. Grier was right to move on. However, the team needs to move on from Georgiev as soon as Vanecek is back. Hand Askarov the lions share of the starts for the next two weeks. If Vanecek can play okay, Georgiev can back him up. If they both suck, or Asky is dominant, you turn the team over to Askarov.

Should we move on from Granlund, Ceci, Sturm, Rutta, and Kunin the team will be dramatically worse. Graf, Gushchin, Vlasic, and Cardwell will be the replacements. Yikes, even if Asky plays out of his mind that’ll be a rough 20 games.

I also might try and steal Primeau off waivers and assign to the AHL (if the Habs don’t claim him back). We’re going to need a fourth goalie, and at least he’s young.
