WTF. I tune in now to watch a monster hip check from McNabb and feel like he slacked tonight now. Kid is taking good strides. I still don't like the Mc pairing on D but they are much better than they were earlier in the season.

Kings listed as 2nd in the Pacific. Just gonna sit back and enjoy that for tonight.

You are going to love this...

If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:

1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).

2. The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column.

3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.

4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.

You have to go all the way to step 4 for the Kings to get the advantage over San Jose!

The Kings goal differential is +11, while Sharks are at +7.

Wait the Kings are in second in the Pacific? Sutter's is the best coach ever!!!...

I'll check this again tomorrow... it's late.... that and the fridge died recently.... ate some salsa that had been at a higher temperature then it should have been.... it's quite possible the food poisoning is affecting my brain.... That and I'm real itchy... I guess I have mold allergies....

On a side note the salsa still tasted great....

I have not checked the standings in weeks, I have no idea how we could be in 2nd in the Pacific but I shall take it!

Vancouver has three games in hand, and is getting around 2/3 of the points available, so effectively they have a three point lead over the Kings and Sharks, if the games in hand play out as they "should".

But hey, long season. It doesn't matter whether the Kings are in 2nd or 4th right now, but only where they are and are striving to reach in the final couple weeks. It's a generally positive trend, which I hope continues.

Feel pretty good that we really smothered a team that's as hot as anyone in the league right now. Veddy nice.

This is how they should've played Calgary, especially in the third period. SJ hardly had any space to skate, especially coming through the middle of the ice.
