Samsonov hurt ?

He had an awkward fall trying to save the penalty shot, could be what started it and then a save later aggravated it more. He didn't look to be labouring though, at least on camera.

Either way its gonna be brutal with the Marlies goalies playing for this week at least
 
We're so f***ed if he's out for any extended time. Can we even sign petruzzelli and bring him up? f*** Matt Murray

Kallgren is absolute dog water. If they have to rely on him for any significant amount of time, I’m going to write this season off, he is terrible in every sense of the word imaginable. I can’t describe how terrible he is. It’s not like tonight was the reason why they won, he had to make like five saves, I hope he doesn’t play tomorrow, God I hate him.

Ranting turned off, I feel better now, please continue.

No offense to Kallgren, I like him. But he's pretty firmly an AHL goalie and we have 3/4 of our goalies hurt.

If Samsonov's out for any length of time we need a trade.


I mean I guess we could sign Petruzzelli but do we really want to go any length of time with Kallgren/Petruzzelli in net?

Yes we have a contract spot now with NAK being claimed off waivers. But hopefully it isn’t too bad for Samsonov. He did finish the period after all and wasn’t expected to start tomorrow.

Just watch how trash Campbell is right now... still prefer take a guest with murray for 2 year than the same guest on Campbell for 5... campbell can thanks leafs to be able to be considerated like a starter in NHL and now he will be the new koskinen of oilers...

Maybe it's just for precautionary reasons? If it's a sore knee and he's slated to be off tomorrow maybe an early night made sense.

What the f*** is up with Murray no updates nothing it's been long enough.
 
Just an FYI, Petruzzelli just won another game today.

He is currently 6-0 with a .922 so far with the Marlies. This was the defense in front of him today:



He needs a contract and has limited AHL experience, but he has made some stellar saves and has been huge for the Marlies this year.

He has been skating but not fully participating in practice last I heard. So not too far away but not super close either.
I doubt he would be eligible to come off LTIR yet but he should be real close on that front.
 
Oh boy, does this mean trouble. I'm speechless if Samsonov is bothered all season by knee troubles other GM's will put Dubas over the barrel. Without goaltending it's season over.
 
If this is anything more than precautionary, we're going to have to make a trade.
We cannot roll with, Kallgren... and... <checks notes> ...I have no idea who would be up next, and it doesn't really matter because this team cannot win running our #4 and #5 goaltenders for any period of time.
