Even so, I did enjoy the last Sam and JD game ever. Those were my guys in my childhood fandom. Depressing that my earliest memories of them are calling awful Rangers teams in the dark ages and my last will be them calling this game for a terrible Rangers team.

for all of fox's skill and production, his vision, deception, and defensive prowess, i'm not sure he's a 1D. i love the guy and would never trade him - you'd never get full value - but you need another guy who can control the game from the back end.

combined with a real defensive system, the whole team looks a lot better with that guy there imo.

I'd like to blame Lavi but thats just deflecting from the players arent actually very good. Some are ok but we have many duds. Last year was just a perfect storm of over achieving combined with players like Laf and Igor doing the old pre contract extra effort year. Serious collapse in team stature. Really embarrasing. You'd think trading Trouba and Goodrow should have helped us but I'd love to know what would have happened if Drury just left well enough alone. We probably would've still sucked but still its hard to figure how much those trades hurt the self esteem of the team.

Went about as expected.
This team checked out a while ago and the coaches don't care. There's still a few players putting in the effort but overall it's just a broken group going through the motions that they are contractually obligated to do.
Regardless of who is behind the bench or up in the GM suite next season, the team needs someone(s) on the ice to actually take charge and lead the group.
It would actually be great to learn that the young guys have called out the vets and told them all to pull their head sin or piss off

Yes.....pick is protected from position 1 thru 13.....anything higher and pick goes to Pittsburgh.
