I was one of the many that criticized him a lot.
Now can’t say enough how proud I am of him , he made very hard saves and most important looked confident in net from start to finish even after an own goal by savard and gave the team a chance to win

Crazy to think we've got 2 more years of Monty at only a 3.15M cap hit....

With Dobes as a back up, and Fowler (& Volhokin & Miller) waiting in the wings.

Damn impressive the way we've quickly turned a big organization weakness into a strength

Crazy how much he's improved since he first got here. Blew past his career high with 60 starts this year, had minimal time to rest this year with the Four Nations Tournament and then finished the season 13-3-4 with a 2.48 GAA and .910 save % before putting together 2 great starts in the playoffs.

I'm honestly shocked and impressed by his play this year. Fowler and Dobes will have a hard time taking his #1 spot if he keeps it up.

This guy was always built for the playoffs
He's a chunky motherf***er. My guess is that he feasts on snacks to be able to survivre through winter so he's full of vitality when spring comes. Plus he takes up space in net.

nothing against Montembault, who has played very well this series, but he simply isn't athletic enough to play through a strain. i think/hope it's Dobes' net for the rest of the series, or for as long as Monty needs to heal up. if Dobes goes on a heater, it'll be an interesting discussion as to who gets the net.
