That's a good deal. Locks him up at a very affordable price. Gives him some stability. I assume it's all 1-way, which, if he ends up in Hartford at some point, will ease his suffering.

Gives us exactly what Goodrow wouldve for 1/4 of the price. I thought Carrick was noticeable when we played the Ducks, and in the playoffs when he was in the lineup for Edmonton.

The team probably needs (2) centers in UFA. This is one and he's cheap. Even if he becomes a depth option like Brodzinski this is a good signing.

Good pickup. We at least have someone who will drop the gloves or make people pay for cheap stuff in the playoffs when they start messing with and taking liberties with Igor after the whistle / cover up.

I like him. He's a really gritty player. He's average size but he'll fight anybody. He's not a bad player for a 4th liner either. That's an upgrade on Goodrow if you're looking at a cheaper contract. He's pretty close to Goodrow as a player. Another somewhat comparable is Hathaway.

ironically he's really not an upgrade on Brodzinski

This is fine, solid depth bottom 6er who can step in if the kids falter. Contract can be completely buried in AHL if need be so that's good too.
