Sam Bennett ANNIHILATES Jaccob Slavin With Massive Hit

I had almost entirely forgotten about the term until today but Slavin got absolutely starched. Basically found his default pose.

No fencing response either, which I appreciated because that's always a little upsetting. Yeah, Slavin's still hurt and nobody likes that but there's something about seeing the arms flail that makes it more real and it's easier to see this as a mixed highlight and not just a bummer because of it.

Maybe that's stupid but goddamn, I still like hits and that's about as tucked and legal as you can get while still stealing a man's soul.

Causing brain injury.

Just like he did to Knies.

Trash.

Someone needs to mangle his face.
It's a contact sport, bud. Sometimes you enter collisions and lose, and you're not protecting everyone from brain injury until that part of the game is entirely gone.

If you want that, by all means, but these guys sign up for the job and know what's up.

nothing more predictable than fans of a losing team calling anybody who plays with grit, tenacity, and physicality dirty just because the team they love didn't have an answer for them and they need a way to cope. I personally loved watching TJ Oshie go from shootout specialist to "dirty piece of shit" just by playing like his life was on the line.

Or like Sam Bennett is right now.

Really surprised Slavin was completely launched off his feet considering he’s bigger and Bennett was gliding into the hit for a long distance. Pretty weird outcome. Hope his head injury isn’t too serious.

It's hilarious how many people would have aneurysms if they watched hockey before 2000. Hockey is a contact sport and this is the playoffs. Here's the world's smallest violin...
Is this Bennett hit much different than the one Svech laid on H. Lindholm last playoff?

Seemed like a hit within the rules. Slavin didn’t get any help from his teammates that Bennett was coming in on the other side of him.

That looked like a vintage Chris Neil hit. Defender coming out of behind his own net about to try to start a break out, but not paying attention to where he's going, fore checker comes in opposite side of the net and lays him out. No charging, no elbow. Big, thunderous, but clean. You have to have your head on a swivel in that area of the ice.
