Bennett gets put into a perfect situation while poor Mony had to play with those duds Gaudreau, Hudler, Lindholm...
It really is remarkable to see Bennett being held solely responsible for his line's shortcomings here with all the revolving door of crap he's played alongside. But when Monahan's line goes cold at crucial points in the season, the story becomes about how the team collectively failed and how Gaudreau may be just as responsible or how our goalies and coaches let us down

This guy was given the longest contract a Flame has ever been given, an 'A' pretty early into his career and all the runway to succeed here but the buck never stops with him

This. Bennett was crapped on for not producing with the likes of Versteeg, Jankowski, Brouwer and now when he's putting up points at over PPG pace he's riding coattails?

How does Monahan look away from Gaudreau? 4 even strength points in his last 10 games? And half of those came in one game. Probably Gaudreau's fault still.

Anyways, using Bennett’s “perfect situation” is a bit hypocritical considering who monahan has been stapled to his whole career.

Besides his stint with glencross and Jones I’m 2015, Monahan hasn’t come close to top 6 centre production away from gaudreau.

lol you know the Bennett Derangement Syndrome is real when folks are getting hysterical and whiney about discussions involving a trade of Flames players all of two weeks old. Oh well.

Said it elsewhere but every point Bennett puts up is an egg on this managements faces and I sincerely hope he scores enough to drown them all in that disgusting yolky mess. There's a deep rot in this organization that anyone with a brain and a lack of overwhelming arrogance can see. And who knows, maybe if the lot of them choke on enough yolks, some of that vitamin goodness will sink in and they'll be all the smarter for it.

It seems like many of us could use teh brewskies, a huge hug or a fist bump. Bennett has Ekblad carrying him again, so that's the only explanation why he's doing well again. :naughty: (It was the only way he did a pull up in his draft season).

And I am freaking ready for tax season to be over...

If you put a guy with NHL level puck skills with Huberdeau, there is bound to be some points potted. Relax everybody. Bad look on Tre though if Craig Conroy acknowledged Bennett didn't get a fair shake here. Wtf does that say about Tre and the coaches communication. Letting incompetent ego maniac coaches bury a player. It almost happened in Edmonton with Pulju, and now he's stapled to McDavid.

Also shows cgy doesn't have a legit game breaker.

Also where is this Conroy quote?

Why? Scouting reports indicate Heineman's upside is exactly what Sam Bennett has been for 400 NHL games, except isn't bad defensively.
Did scouts even do proper analysis on Heineman?
Just thought by an elite prospect assessment on him that he had NhL upside?
Likened the 2nd round pick ( which will be a very late one at that, due to Fla's very good season leading their division), to being more valuable than Benny ever was as a Flame?
Yeah, we will get another Kylington, who will be developed for 8 years and then sitting in press box. Wow.

10 pts in 7 games, great trade Trolleving:help:
Kind of defining the _hit show Flames org, brass and coaching has really been. Benny's whole career here, barring his rookie season, has been a real head-shaker of mediocre and not good enough organization around, under Benny. Good for him to have found a "fit".
Always knew he had it in him.

Flames probably keep Bennett if it wasn't for the expansion draft. But again, and I've said it before, Flames management lacks courage. Courage would be moving Monohan and trying Bennett at 2nd line center for a full season.
I had wished for this passed 2 years, too. Money has been mediocre at best. Now, non-existent 1/2 of games.
He was more impactful the year or 2 before his offseason need of 4 separate surgeries! Then he has been since recovered.

Johnny Hockey? NO, not without a top puck moving Dman on the ice with him and a higher quality Centerman.

He's a very very talented hockey player but he's not shifting paradigms like Mackinnon, Huberdeau, Matthews, McDrai.

Nailed it. Courage was and always will be what was and is lacking from top to bottom in this organization.

Crazy thing is, Monahan would have returned a heck of a right winger, maybe even a guy like Jesse Puljujarvi had we done it sooner.

Gaudreau - Bennett - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Puljujarvi
Mangiapane - Ryan - Dube
Lucic - x - Phillips

That looks way more balanced

Could have had even better than Puljujarvi, if Tre would have offered Monahan to Wpg for Patrik Laine.
No matter how _hitty a season Laine is having on CBJs, Laine is a pitential star and would have made the Flames way more dangerous of scoring threat team.
Laine and will be better than Pulju, one on one player for player. Oh well.

I actually prefer Puljujarvi over Laine. It's kind of a Bennett vs Monahan comparision where Laine is just a scorer and Puljujarvi is a do-it-all. But don't tell Oilers fans I said that.
