Ah jeffrey, another one of our great white hopes that never did anything.

He shredded his knee, had a setback, and never looked the same again. He had 12 points in 25 games, including that two goal effort including the beauty OT winner in Boston.

He wasn't a guy that could afford to lose any speed or agility and he looked noticeably weak in both areas after returning.

The NHL is littered with careers gone south after injuries. Just how it goes. No reason to rub salt in the guys wounds. He was a hell of a player in the A and who knows where he would be now if his knee didn't get ****ed up.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in 13-14 he played for the Dallas squad (AHL) who won the title and was a big contributor. Since then has been with Vancouver as a 13th forward and AHL guy as well as Arizona. So at least he's on some sort of upswing.

Yeah nothing against him, just tired of what little forward prospects this team has had that never work out, whether through injury or over hype.

I feel dirty whispering Sprongs name in fear of what might happen to him.

Poor guy. He really was a different player after the injury.

He's no Shane Endicott.

I always felt bad for Jeffrey. He worked like crazy to improve his skating and it was gone in an instant with one freak injury.

Just saw Ehrhoff signed for 1.5 million... Wow, that's a steal for LA, regardless of how insignificant he was here.

Whoops. Fixed my previous post. Wouldn't be surprised to see him with a bounce back season.

Yeah I would have easily taken him at that. Guess brass thought he was just to damaged.

Would have been quite decent. The more important thing to be discussing is Perron. We absolutely can not have a skilled wing in the bottom 6. We need to trade him away. Ideally for a grinder. Or another #6.

Injuries no longer happen, lines are set in stone forever, and he's on the third line. How this organization lives with itself is beyond me.

The average age of that forward group is over 29.

We better win now, because pretty soon a lot of these guys are going to be on the wrong side of 30, and we have nothing coming through the ranks to replace them.

I think the Penguins window is closer to 5 or 6 years than it is 2 or 3 years. The only key player on the Penguins roster on the wrong side of 30 is Fleury. Considering goalies can play at a high level in their mid to late 30s that's not a huge concern and luckily it's also the one area the Penguins have good prospects coming up the ranks.

The other guys on the wrong side of 30 are Dupuis, Kunitz, Fehr, Cullen, Lovejoy, and Scuderi. Nothing on that list screams impossible to replace with free agents.

That gets inflated by having Cullen, Dupuis and Kunitz here with very few young forwards. Perron, Crosby, Hornqvist, Kessel, Malkin, Bennett, Plotnikov and Bonino are all under 29. There are 3 old guys and a bunch of prime aged guys, that's basically it.

I took more than the recommended dosage of sleeping pills last night and dreamt that we traded Scuderi for JVR. Is there a way that we could make that actually happen?

However if you remove Dupuis and Kunitz from it how much does it drop? Almost everyone else is closer to 25 then 30 and none of our core players are older than 30, while most are in their mid/late 20s.
