No problems with the effort...but man, that game was there for them if they could just get some finish. And when Boston picks up a point in an inevitable 3 point game against the Islanders, they'll technically be out of a playoff spot on Thanksgiving yet again (albeit with games in hand).

Get back to streaking on Friday though and it's all good.
at least no 3 point game

Shutout on 38 shots, plus they had 5 or 6 nice looks and missed the net. No complaints, except they wasted a damn fine performance by 6K.

Was that Clifton's best game as a Sabre?

There's a reason Minnesota is so good: they make it incredibly difficult to get real good chances.
Lots of loose pucks in the house resulting from blocks and saves but the Sabres were usually pn the wrong side of the Minni defenders and angled away from reaching them.

Quinn had several really nice looks at a snipe or two.

Tuch too. But most everything he shot went wide. Sabres deserved a point from that one.

The Wild aren't slouches.

McLeod has played 12 minutes, while Cozens has played almost 20 minutes and continues to average around 30 points on the season, which is unacceptable. I'm glad Quinn's game seems to be improving, but he needs to better his shot, he has one empty-net goal in 21 games.

Watching the highlights, there was definitely a lack of a guy like Kreider at front of the net, so many shots to Gustavsson, but no one is around net.

With credit due to Gus, I think the finishing was pretty poor. Those nights happen but it’s frustrating in a 1-0 loss
MIN is one of the best defensive teams we've seen the Sabres play so far this season. They kept the Sabres out of the high danger areas for the most part, and the Sabres really had no desire (or no game plan) to get to those places.

That said, the way the sabres played should have been enough to earn them a point on most nights, maybe even two.

This was a high quality affair all around. Sabres played great and managed to generate pretty good chances through a great Minnesota defense. Just couldn't get the goal. Though I think they lost somewhat in intensity during 5v5 as the game went along.

Cozens just has no confidence and during his contract earning season pretty much everything went into the net. He might have to adjust his expectations to the fact he's not going to be the player he was payed to be.

This matches what I saw last night, I kept saying I thought Byram looked excellent. I’m glad we have him, he’s really taken off since him and Dahls have been paired together.
I couldn't watch the game, so it's hard for me to say. Joki is again the worst in metrics, it seems Kulich, Quinn, Krebs and Cozens weren't very noticeable.

Maybe I missed it, but I was curious why he wasn't on the ice with the goalie pulled.
