If that play happened for the Sabres, it would have been called a hand pass.

That gets called a hand pass in 99.9% of instances. We see it all of the time in the neutral and offensive zones.

No, a hand pass looks different to me. Here, the Montreal player tried to play with his stick, but the puck bounced into his fist and he definitely didn't make an intentional pass, imo.

I'm not that familiar with all the intricacies and rules and I thought a hand pass was when the hand is not clenched into a fist and the player makes a deliberate movement with the hand to make a pass, so I could be wrong.

Hand pass means you use the hand to pass, not have your hand accidently hit by the opposing teams shot.

Penalties absolutely turned this game into a shit show. Refs called literally everything and ruined it.

And it got Sammy hurt. Freak accident. But he was standing around like a bystander watching the scrum and got knocked over.

If he wasn't so timid he would have been in the middle of things as an aggressor.

So if your goalie gets dinged up in practice the day before playing a bottom feeder team, wouldn’t you start the back up? Unless you don’t have confidence in that back up. Which seems to be the case. Get a back up, and send Levi down. Do it yesterday ffs.

Just my opinion, but this isn't a confidence issue, it's a Lindy issue. His goalie management has been shit his entire coaching career. He can't help but ride his #1 into the ground and he's always been that way. Levi should have prepped to be the starter and played from the start, not thrown to the wolves while the team was playing like crap against a desperate team.
