As long as Buffalo was the only Club making a waiver claim.
I think this point isn't clear and someone should ask Adams or Ruff if Reimer can be sent down without going through waivers.

Not exactly sure how this works if the original waiving team got him back.

If no one else put in a claim but us, Reimer can go straight to the minors. Think of it this way, he would have passed through waivers had we not claimed him in that scenario. Since we are the original waiving team there is no need to waive him again

True, in the short run it is probably not great but this is more of a long run move to make sure Levi develops more than just wins or losses right now.
Correct,

Which is why waiving Reimer in the first place never made sense. Let Levi get the Miller treatment and play full-time in the AHL and sprinkle a NHL start every now and then.

But do we know if the Sabres got him off the waiver wire on priority, or if no one else put a claim in and they took him back? My curiosity is if he can be sent down without going through waivers, or if he still needs to clear. Are there multiple waiver scenarios in this case?

Adams picked up Reimer as an insurance policy if Levi didn't look ready... in a few short games earlier Levi kinda looked ready, so they waived Reimer. Whether it's the team in front of him, or Levi, or the fact he isn't getting enough games to be consistent, Levi hasn't been the answer.

I'll give credit to Adams for owning the mistake once Levi is headed to Rochester.

We don't know if any other teams put a waiver claim in. They don't announce that.

Buffalo won the claim because they were either the only team to put a claim in or the team with the worst points percentage to put a claim in.

If the Sabres assign him to Rochester (without going on waivers again) within 30 days, then we will know we were the only team to put a waiver claim in.

They must know if there were other claims, no?
