If you’re going to keep commenting on what I posted at least have a damn clue what it was about. Because it had nothing to do with Cozens getting hit. Nor was the pass Benson made a “suicide pass”.


It was about Cozens passively standing there watching Benson go after the guy who hit him. Then hardly bothering to engage once things kicked off. The Cozens of 2 seasons ago would have been right in there preventing Benson from having to even bother. But the physical and aggressive Cozens we saw 2 seasons ago disappeared after he got beat up/broke his face last season. I don’t know how we get him back. But we can’t afford to have a full season without our #2 center being what he’s capable of.

it wasn't even a dirty hit you seem to be awfully ok with an action that would have put us at a 3v5 and probably would have scored 2 goals against us and we wouldn't have come back.

This is true but Patty had a way bigger impact on his respective franchise than Heater did for SJ. I get it though, They just invited a bunch of Thortons old teammates.

Sadly he was horrible before that fight as well. He's really only been good in one NHL season where they played true run & gun hockey.

There's a great thread about Cozens on the other Sabres forum with some very thoughtful posts. Basically it was pointed out that he's largely been a below average shooter, 2-way player and overall NHL'er in all but one season. He seems to only thrive in run & gun type systems and short tournaments against lesser competition. I really think the odds of him being a productive and useful 2C are slim. He might be able to salvage some production as a winger however.
