Sabres score an own goal on a delayed penalty with an empty net.

A follow up: down 2, they pulled the goalie again to make it a 6 on 4. Mikhael Sergachev flipped the puck out of the zone and towards the Sabres end. Rasmus Dahlin reached up into the air and couldn’t quite catch it, so it bounced off his glove… and down into the empty net.

Not one, but two own goals.

Dahlin is literally on the bottom of the list of issues with the organization. He is by far the guy who cares the most about this organization and also our best player by a mile.
Best player, sure, but is he leading the way is turning around the culture? And what evidence is there he "cares the most about this organization". Rumor was he requested a sit down with the brass and was obviously pleased with what he heard, but also obviously was prepared to say trade me if it went the other way.

You mean the rumor that was immediately shut down? I’m not gonna tell you about Avalanche issues and pretend I know more about your organization than you. Maybe try the same.

The rumor that was shot down is that he asked for a trade.

The rumor that was verified is that he asked for a meeting...only to be pleased with what he heard. But obviously if he wasnt pleased, he was ready to ask for a trade...

Rocket surgery, I know.

Pretty bizarre own goal. Usually they are on a mistimed drop pass. Don't think I've ever seen one scored from the o-zone like this before.

Doubly bizarre that the correct play was to turn the puck over as quickly as possible to go to 6 on 4.

Rob Ray was all of us. "GIVE THEM THE PUCK!!!!"

If I'm honest, almost every own goals I've seen where it generally occurs because of goalie pulled on delayed penalty, they are from the ozone.....very rarely do I see an own goal scored from the dzone actually.

Also, I get the idea to turn the puck over to get the PP started, but again, generally speaking, you don't necessarily want to give up possession for that.....possession is huge, especially when you are in the ozone late in a game trying to get a goal. I almost always call for a giving the other team the puck when we are on a PP and a second penalty is called so we can have more time on a 5 on 3 though.

sounds like you’re making up scenarios and thoughts in your head for someone who doesn’t know you exist. I only deal in facts and what happened, rocket science I know.

Got it, so he asked for a closed door meeting with the GM for no reason. Maybe to talk about his next contract in 8 years or if they should go to Chefs after the game or not.

Yes, it is an assumption, but a very likely assumption.

He is a fine coach, but the young guys dont respect him. They needed a good actually skilled vet to keep the young guys in line under Lindy. I have no evidence of this, but my guess is Dahlin isnt helping much there. Doesnt seem like captain material to me.

Yet you’re in here typing things as if they are facts. Sit down.

Is that supposed to reflect poorly on him or something?

Seems like a rational response to what’s now been 5-6 years of dysfunction since he’s been with the franchise

That's a good one.

But has anyone seen one that bounced off the boards at center ice and went in too like this Sabres one?

What's the difference if bounced off the boards? Do you want one that was scored by a player with the #72, too?

Someone found the exact same thing, not 10 minutes after your post. If you want to find a more specific example, for absolutely no reason, use your own time to find it.

I'm pretty sure I saw this in Columbus 20+ years ago and I swear it was Buffalo. For some reason I am thinking it was preseason. Anybody remember that? I distinctly remember the forward making a hard pass to the Dman and he missed it.
