Sabres score an own goal on a delayed penalty with an empty net.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Did they rule that the Utah player never touched the puck or was it that since he wasnt in control of the puck the play is not dead. I mean what if he gets a stick on the puck and changes the angle slightly he's not in control of the puck but ends up in the net so is that the rule that a goal cannot be scored on a delayed penalty off the penalized team

They must have ruled Utah never touched it.

Per the rule book:

(xi) During the delayed calling of a penalty, the offending team cannot score unless the non-offending team shoots the puck into their own net. This shall mean that a deflection off an offending player or any physical action by an offending player that may cause the puck to enter the non-offending team’s goal, shall not be considered a legal goal. Play shall be stopped before the puck enters the net (whenever possible) and the signaled penalty assessed to the offending team.

Best player, sure, but is he leading the way is turning around the culture? And what evidence is there he "cares the most about this organization". Rumor was he requested a sit down with the brass and was obviously pleased with what he heard, but also obviously was prepared to say trade me if it went the other way.
Buffalo made two epic mistakes in having Lindy Ruff as coach and Dahlin as captain. The results speak for themselves. They seem to have regressed an awful lot this season.

Thank you!

Buffalo born Patrick Kane being the culprit for this one is fitting for the Buffalo curse.
lol
whoever this oiler player is was more interested in playing interference so it remained an own goal than rushing to tap it in himself.

edit: nvm delayed penalty so he couldn't touch it. smart play

Yet you’re in here typing things as if they are facts. Sit down.
Im typing things to a bunch of other hockey fans seeing if we can come up with a conclusion there since no one but GMKA and Dahlin knows what went down, but ok lets pretend your best player requested a sit down with the GM for absolutely no reason. Talk about putting your head in the sand.
