The last evidence I have of where in the world Rasmus Dahlin is is this from his GF being in Stockholm two weeks ago.

My guess is that he is back home in Sweden working out for now and may not be back in Buffalo until camp opens.

As much as I like Girs and Okposo, I cant help feel that at least one of their roster spots could have been used for a lineup upgrade. Maybe one of the prospects or a short-term UFA signing....maybe like Tatar as an example.

It’s my biggest complaint. I don’t think it’s anywhere near as bad as some think. The roster missed the playoffs by 1 point with the youngest roster in the league. But the pool is so deep we could easily have afforded to pick a position and just replaced a kid with their fully developed version. Meier almost is a guarantee we best florida into the playoffs. Ekholm would have been at the top of my list. I would have given up a premium asset for a few years of Ekholm.

I’m not too worried about it. No single player can guarantee us a playoff spot. They can improve the odds but that’s about it.

I think many forget how much luck plays a role. Florida in the playoffs in the first place being a prime example.

Of the 3, the only one I wanted back was Girgs. Not only did we bring back all 3, but they're getting overpaid significantly.

I mean....he still needs to move bodies out.

I guess I didn't consider waiving Stillman and Bryson to Rochester as moves. I assume both will clear with ease.

I think Boosh will get to watch a lot of games from the rafters.

The challenge is that the lack of cap space around the league has lead to an almost complete standstill with regards to trades.

Since July 3rd, there has been a grand total of one trade. There have been way more speculation around teams having to move guys than those guys actually getting moved.

For sure. I think Okposo gives them flexibility in that he can still be dad while moving into the 13th spot when a youngster forces their hand. Same with Jost really. To me, they're just guys that can be here if kids don't wrestle those spots away from them.

You're talking about bad luck as well, right? Because Florida was a President's trophy winner the season prior, and they improved their team from that team. I mean missing Barokov for 14 games probably played a factor in not getting as many points. Or is it, that Buffalo is the only team that luck plays a factor in their standings?

Bryson will be waived. Can't happen now, doesn't need to happen now.
Same with a trade. Trade market is constipated. Can't happen now, doesn't need to happen now.
Someone could, likely will, be put on IR, joining Quinn on LTIR.
Point being, Adams doesn't need to do anything in August.

Boosh will play for his physicality.

Florida's goaltending to end the season (AHL goalie playing out of his mind) and in the playoffs (BOB putting some of the best numbers we've seen in a while) seems to outweigh whatever luck the Sabres had last season.

Running back nearly the same exact non playoff team sans 2 Dmen is a little puzzling. Especially when we get brutally dominated at the face off dot every game.

I'm higher on Jake Richard and Tyson Kozak than I ever was in Pu. So yeah, I can't imagine him in the top 10

I think he'd be closer to 20 than 10 tbh.

It's tough and would depend on what metrics are used. Savoie is the best skater. Quinn has the best overall skillset. Benson is a pure dog after a bone defensively, with a plus offensive skillset.

IMO I lean towards Quinn but wouldn't be surprised if Benson took it
