Any reason why? I would think if a team adds Eichel, they'll be dropping in the draft standings in 2022 and 2023.Has to be Reinhart. If we're trading Eichel I want 2022/2023 picks.

Nobody is saying he doesn't have a market. However, acting like his market now is the same as it would be if he wasn't injured, hadn't publicly asked out, or had a very high salary in a flat cap world is just wrong. All those things affect his trade value.Teams that are pressured into making a deal will never succeed. This is where Adams may not be the ideal GM in Buffalo. I can think of some GM's in the league that by reputation, you either play or be under the threat of sitting out a year. You cannot have agents and players running the Ward. There is always a team desperate enough, that may be not the correct word, maybe desire to add a marquee player like Eichel, on the ice and to sell your team. He's a star, he's locked into a 10M x 5 years contract. Which is pretty good when you consider players that are not as good are paid more, and when healthy Eichel is worth that and some. There will be a market for him. I actually hate trade threads because the value when emotion is part of it is usually A secondary prospect and pick is supposed to land you a player like Eichel. This is Not happening as an impartial observer.
Matt Dumba is not worth close to a #2 overall pick even in the weakest recent draftbecause hes a 26 yr old top pairing RD?
I don't see it. Zegras would be off the table. I would think 3rd OA pick +some other stuff would make the most sense.
I think the deal is for Reinhart to Van. Would be ridiculously shocked if its Eichel to Vancouver as Canucks already have Pettersson and Horvat 1-2 down the middle.
I think the deal is
9th OA
Loui Eriksson ( 1 yr left - 6mil AAV/ 3mil real dollars)
Jonah Gadjovich
2022 3rd round pick
for
Reinhart
If Eichel is deemed healthy by Doctors on both sides. Whether he wants out or not it has no bearing on the market if you are a GM with a reputation of not showing weakness. The team has full control over him for the next 5 years. That's a big chip. Trade value is dictated by other teams and how badly they want to add a very good player. We have seen it each year, an elite #1C does not grow on trees. The only way value would go down is if Eichel is suffering from a potential career ending injury for which I have not heard this one is.Nobody is saying he doesn't have a market. San Jose is going to turn Burns, Couture and Picks into Eichel, Reilly and something else.
You doubt me, but this is the way.
That’s an overpayment. You could get him for the 8OA
Do Nucks fans want Reinhart? Honestly I don't like that fit
You haven't been paying attention to precedent. If Eichel is deemed healthy by Doctors on both sides. You’re obviously overvaluing Reinhart if you think he gets anything near Vilardi and the 8OA.Lmao this website comically overvalues draft picks.
the draft is just that shittyWhy would Seattle give up the 2nd overall pick for Matt Dumba?
Because he simply isn’t good enough to justify a 2nd overall pickid love to know what world you live in where you think a top pairing d thats in his "prime years" isnt worth more than a 1st Let alone a 2nd overall by itself
especially in this draft
There are a lot of ways to create cap without to much damage. Benning may already have LE moved and is waiting till his bonus is paid. Beagle and Ferland LTIR is 8 million, buying out Holtby saves 4 million. Jake will be bought out saves 2 million.Next season was always going to be cap freedom so any moves created now can be used for long-term deals. I think Benning goes after both Sam and Risto would rather dangle next year's pick but Sam is young and a hell of a player who pretty much finishes our top 6.I actually really, really like the premise of Reinhart in Vancouver.
That said, they're going to be in tough finding cap space for what they already have. Unless they can unload some of the bad contracts Buffalo's way too.
