Also Florida fired their coach after having the best regular season in franchise history and it was a dumb decision. How are you even drawing that comparison????

Actually, that's exactly what the Tank should be measured on.
The Rebuild, on the other hand, can be measured by "where we are at today".

The Tank was a one purpose thing (McEichel).

And here is the fundamentally disconnect. The purpose of McEichel was to build a winner. From my perspective, judging the decision to tank as a good one, simply because we got Eichel, and Eichel is good, is like hocking all of you possessions to be able to buy a fancy engagement ring, and judging the effort successful regardless of whether or not she says yes, just because the ring it great.

I don't think the rebuild is a failure, but I have some concerns about the job Murray is doing. Honestly, I'm posting here to suggest that Murray deserves some blame for the success of the team because of the state of the roster. I'm not suggesting he get canned yet, but I don't think he should be above rebuke. And I appreciate the debate, insults aside.

or some of us can actually tell the difference between bad coaching and bad players.

Maybe you should be GM then. You love to make this about me when you just insulted Tim Murray at the same time.

Two seasons of muted individual production without team success and no major coaching adjustments across these going-on 184 games.

Honestly, shut the **** up.

Huh? Bylsma has had result also. Our GM says the players arent winners. Do you agree with him?

He got us as high as picking 8th. Results. :handclap:

If Bylsma consistently made coaching decisions that everyone disagreed with but won games, there wouldn't be this kind of backlash. But that's not happening.

Because Bob has already said he'd be surprised if they were thinking of firing him. The only people on the planet that place all the blame on the coach in on this board. I agree that he's one of the biggest problems, and hurting us more every day, but like Sam said, teams don't just become great overnight. This team has a long, long way to go, no matter who the coach is.

Our only solace -- and it's a HUGE one -- is that we have one of the best 5 players on the league, which most teams can't say. So there's always hope.

It depends if you believe there is a better coach available.
Trying to get better everyday, right?
Look at Montreal, having a way better season than us but when Julien became available they made the move.
If GMTM feels there is a better coach available.
YOU NEED TO MAKE THE UPGRADE.

If you think there is a better defensemen than Georges, than you make the move. :D

Your posts are almost always about you.

Yes, I insulted Tim Murray's choice of a terrible head coach, and have repeatedly stated that if Murray does not fire him this offseason, I will lose faith in Murray as a GM.

Nobody doubts your honesty, but the constant need you have to denigrate those who disagree is out of line. This is a debate about a hockey team, not a thanksgiving dinner for Pete's sake.

You hocked your ****** college dorm possessions... for a fancy engagement ring. good move. The tank was successful.

However, is she going to say yes? That depends on a lot more than the engagement ring. The Rebuild is still to be debated, we're not there yet.

Bylsma deserves to be fired, Ive never debated that. My problem is many people that want him fired cant see flaws in Tim Murray and refuse to give him any blame for Bylsma losing.

No, why haven't you already lost faith? Murray hired him. Murray has done a lot of things you don't approve, like ignore defense. Ive said this before, Murray had 14 1st and 2nd round picks and Guhle will be all he has to show for it on defense.

Bylsma has had his hands tied in a lot of situations also. Used to be if a guy wasn't playing well you bench him or swap him out for a guy in the AHL. Murray has the team pushed so far up to the cap it has made those kinds of roster moves impossible. Controlling ice time is tool #1 in a coach's motivational toolbox. Murray completely took that away from these coaches.

Murray made a mistake. That happens. Doesn't automatically make him a bad GM.

Look at Carrier's icetime this year and think about how terrible this comment is.

Steve Dangle's latest vid on the Toronto buffalo game had a good nugget. About mid way through, he (a leafs fan, doesn't really pay attention to the Sabres in detail) talked how the Sabres kept trying to beat the leafs with the stretch pass, even when it was clear it wasn't working.

Pretty funny when another fanbase sees the flaws and questions him. Disco should watch the vid.

He also has rare Toronto praise for Jack.

That game showed that Bylsma just cant make adjustments. The previous Toronto game everything worked, but the next game Toronto changed it up and Bylsma had no answers. Thats why Pens fans grew tired of Bylsma. He is a poor playoff coach. Thats about as close as we will get to the playoffs with Bylsma as coach and we saw the worst of him.

I agree it's still to be debated, but I have concerns about the state of the organization, primarily the defense, and if she does say no, that ring didn't get us any closer to marriage.

Don't underestimate the cost of the tank. You sold your college dorm possessions, but you also took 2 years off of adding new assets. The time it takes to get over a tank is the main reason not to do it. We all know why you do do it.

Sure. This game finally showed that.

Such... as?

Defense. We have 2 legit top 4 signed heading into next season, Bogo is up for debate. 1 of the 2, McCabe, is scratched tonight. In the system we have one quality prospect.

Cap situation. Moulson and Ennis eating nearly $10 million in a year Eichel and Reinhart need contracts.
