If I could have a neutral input, save for the grotesque logo and redundant chest numbers, the Buffaslug jerseys were probably some of the nicest I have ever seen. The gray piping nicely contrasted the look, the numbers were different looking in a good way and they were made in such a way that each player was still easy to distinguish. And the all around color scheme was so pleasant to look at. It was such a bad ass design with a capital B. The jerseys themselves were so beautiful but it felt like looking at a sports car with a bird turd on it because of the logo.
In a related rant I've always felt the slug was too indulgent. Buffaslug's colors were fine because it matched the rest of the jersey but it's execution was horrid because somehow reinventing the buffalo was paramount to the new look. If you wanted to re-color the white buffalo of the classic logo using the slug colors then just make sure the outer shield is gray so you're not killing people's eyes with too much yellow in one place and avoid the blue stripe down the body so you're not outright mimicking the Bills like the slug did. Do it right and it would look fine because it's an addition of color to a logo without changing what it is actually about -the crossed swords. Seriously.... how do you take the swords away on the primary crest of a team called Sabres??? God no wonder people hated it.
