I had the time to watch it, but I had to turn it off. It is easily the worst game that I can recall. The Isles are always middling and awful to watch, but this game is worthy of Oedipal style gouging out of one’s own eyes.

The issue here is that in talking in terms of roster construction, player styles, he wasn't completely wrong, but in terms of actual ability of the roster stinks

To my eye the Sabres have generated the same amount of chances as the Islanders (that is to say, not that many). Their goalie has made the saves has been the difference.

The difference being, that NY’s defenseman actually know how to position themselves to stop chances from happening near their net.

If Power uses basic body positioning on the PK instead of playing it back to back, and if Power properly takes the lane away for the 2 on 1 when he had no shot at the puck carrier, the play most likely doesn’t end up in the net.
