Post-Game Talk: Sabres 5 - Jets 3

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

People need to relax … the Jets played good enough to win and should have won but sometimes it’s not meant to be.
I agree, the difference was the Jets were not burying their chances, while dominating play in the offensive zone. They had way more dangerous scoring chances than they did.

This happens to the best of teams, and there will be games like this. As they say - you can’t win em all.

Blaming Comrie is weak sauce. He did not let in a bad goal. The Jets team defence was disturbing and disgusting
There was two goals shot from a distance that went in . You either are not playing far enough out of the crease or your angle you took to stop the puck was off . Decent shots but ones that should be stopped by most NHL goalies who are on their game .

He has played well for us this year for sure but this one was not great .

Gotta try Tanev up there with Lowry next game and sit Appleton and dress Kupari .
Totally agree, and I would love to see Tanev on the 3rd line, and Appleton down to the 4th line, and I think I’d play Kupari over AHL Appleton, on the 4th line. Then I’d trade Apples, or just let him go. We have better.

It's kind of predicated on the Jets going at least .500 down the stretch. If they manage that, Dallas has to go 11-3 or something.

This homestand for the Jets is when Dallas makes up the difference in games played, Jets have 3 more to go, in the next 9 days Dallas plays Minnesota at home, then goes to Edmonton, Calgary, and Seattle for two in a row.

I think by the end of the homestand we'll know where the teams stand. If Dallas closes the gap to within 4 with those games in hand I am not optimistic about the Jets holding down #1 in the West through April.

It's in their hands, but the team is not firing on all cylinders.

I'd say after all the praises Samberg has been getting, especially after the Seattle game it has become more noticeable to me how much the pace of the Jets picks up with Pionk on the right side, using his wheels and passes to move through the neutral zone.

Does Arniel stick with Stanley against Caps? Are Stanley-Miller superior to Fleury-Miller? 5 on 5 likely yes, but Stan on the PK is an adventure.

He wasn't bad out there but he's showing some James Wright finish. I had a good view of Appleton dragging the puck through the crease on a decent power move, but by the time he corralled the puck and shot it he had skated himself behind the goal line.

I'm not confident in the bottom six scoring with anyone all of a sudden. 4th line is at least the template for controlling zone time.

No easy answers when you are losing, that's what Scotty is starting to face.

I know and sorry about that but I hope I am wrong and this little slide in play corrects itself.
I have never seen a poster say the Jets suck but i hope i'm wrong more.
I feared this would happen. Remember the b2b vs the caps that crushed their spirits a few years back. Don't look now but they got the Caps next.
I do not know if I can take another collapse but the expected collapse percentage is growing.
A few years back.....??? How about 13 years ago? :laugh: Yup definitely the same team as back then. And by the way we already beat Washington this season in their barn on February 1st . Maybe you could use a little more recent history to predict games but what good is that because the Jets won right ? Unbelievable.:biglaugh:

I feel like I watched a different game than everyone here, it was utter domination by the Jets from what I saw.

If they play like that every night in the playoffs I like our chances, just got 0 bounces and ran into some hot goaltending.
Yeah, in my mind it came down to puck luck, some key ref misses, and both goalies playing outside of their expected performances.

That's hockey.
