Trading Ras was part of the tank thought. We clearly aren't taking that direction, so we'll need to play Ras. As a poster pointed out already we have no one to take his minutes. He's a very important part of this team.

Id be interested in Pinto but not for Rasmus straight up. What are Ottawa’s needs?

If Andersson (or Weegar) aren't coming the other way, I don't think they'd deal Pinto. They also don't have much else that's realistic they'd throw on top to get either of them. Outside of Yakemchuk (who they won't trade), their prospect pool is weak. They also won't deal a 1st since it's too risky and they are losing one in the next 2 years as well (Dadonov fiasco).

TBH I didn't realise Calgary was doing so well, so the idea of this trade is no longer valid. It would be dumb of them to sell Andersson now. I was under the impression Calgary was meh, and that's my fault for not paying closer attention.

To answer your question about what Ottawa needs:
- A stronger mental game and/or better luck
- Ullmark to play to the level he's capable of
- RD to make Hamonic/JBD sit in the press box
- LW that can contribute (Perron hasn't been that unfortunately)

Pinto would be a weird target for Calgary. To me, he's always felt like a bit of a potential "tweener". They've already got that guy in Backlund and Kadri probably ages into that as well. If anything, i'd think Norris would make more sense to Calgary for that "upside" they need...but then, he's not really viable due to reliability/durability issues.

Even if the Flames were doing bad, Andersson is worth a whole lot more than just Pinto

I do like the idea of the Flames acquiring Pinto. I like the player. Just Andersson is too big a ask. That's a top pairing RHD for a middle 6 center. We'd need a top 6 center for Andersson, not a middle 6 one.

Need a culture change. Problem is the GM just hired some of the guys who shouldn't be here. Sens need 2 Top-6 forwards and maybe use Giroux on the 3rd line as he ages to elevate Pinto and Greig games.

?????? - Stutzle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Norris - ??????
Greig - Pinto - Giroux

It's ridiculous that they have these holes after the rebuild but that's what happens when you have someone like Dorion to run things for 7 years... Boucher 10th OA in 2021, then DeBrincat (cost of acquisition : 7th OA + 2nd + 3rd) and Chychrun (cost of acquisition : 12th OA + 2nd + 2nd) fiascos put this team in trouble. There was a lot more damage done by previous management but just this is already too much

All that said, no point trading Pinto to Calgary because Zary or Coronato would be the point of interest
