If I heard correctly Nurse was laughing and joking at the end of the game.

Reaves went to the Oilers dressing room in the 3rd to apologize to Nurse for the hit.

Reaves sucks as a player and more than likely shouldn't be in the league, but this is split seconds apart. There's no way Reaves saw Nurse lower himself (reaching for the puck) and was like "f*** yeah, hit to the head on you"

Both players changed their stance at seemingly the same time a second before contact.

Hopefully what I heard is true and if so, Nurse should be back for the game on Monday, maybe if that's the end of the road trip he skips that just for the extra day of rest and evaluation to make sure things are all good.
They said in the Vancouver/Chicago intermission that Reaves went to apologize and things were fine. Just to wait 24-48 hours for the DoPS

Parros does the bare minimum to keep his job
Parros’ job iIS to do the bare minimum ro provide the owners with the veneer of trying to protect players enough to prevent the retired players from suing them for an unsafe work environment while simultaneously keeping their expensive toys on the ice as much as possible to make them more money.

Then they should sue the union too for not providing a safe work environment...

It’s unfortunate, things will never change unless the NHL admits they have a problem. Which we all know they wont

You do realize that the NHL can make so many more rules to keep players safer as they want and its up to the union to approve of those rules. If union won't approve rule changes there is not a darn thing the NHL can do about it. Welcome to business that has unionized employee.

the NHL does not really want to rid the league of headshots, sad but true. It is super easy to do so but they are turning a blind eye. shockingly given CTE knowledge in present day

Headshots are already no longer allowed and that change happened a decade ago. Not the NHL's fault if the players won't stop doing that. What do you want the NHL to do if the player won't stop hitting players in the head?

Am I crazy? Headshot was definitely no good, but no charge, no jump + nurse being crouched over not protecting himself. 2 games maybe?

The guy is paid to hit and fight. Nurse put himself in a bad position and I don’t believe Reaves tried to target the head. It’s unfortunate and he’ll get a few games I’m sure.

Nurse has been playing some solid hockey so hopefully he doesn’t miss too much time

I just don't understand why he did it? I missed the first period so perhaps there was something that proceeded it, but it seemed to come out of no where. It was so nasty and vicious.

It's a comment on how certain parts of the game that were once considered acceptable in hockey are no longer part of today's NHL.

Saying "a few years ago this would have been fine" is dumb—it doesn't matter what was acceptable then. Now, you simply can't make the head the primary point of contact.
swinging a stick at someones head was never part of the game bro.

Reaves = 893GP + 113 Playoffs GP
career highs of 9g 11a both in 2018-19
career earnings over 20M

Clearly, many teams have wanted his services and will be paid thru age 39

Kind of a dirty hit, but good lord NHL players, keep your heads up

Reaves is a useless hockey player and a complete scum bag. Does absolutely nothing other than fight and shit like this.

So he'll probably get 1 or 2 games.

It’s just pathetic to have a guy like Reeves in the league at all. Make an example out of this moron. No room for this shit in hockey. The NHL is no better than they were 20 years ago. What will it take for the NHL to protect its players?
