Reaves does not deserve to be suspended because Nurse has crap for awareness on the play. When Reaves is coming in hard like that you do not do what Nurse did. Reaves did nothing egregious there. Just a bad result.

A stupid angle? He's in the position any player would be carrying the puck like that lol. What a ridiculous take.

This is pretty much the exact play that gets you in highlight reels. Head down staring at the puck and then skating up without any awareness of where anyone is. A penalty is fine even though nothing illegal really happened. The only reason people are up in arms is because big hits are more uncommon.

Not a single shoulder check from Nurse when hes picking up the puck and going around the net.

His head is up when the hit happens. Usually guys don't completely miss your body on a hit and hit 95% head. "Nothing illegal happened" has to be a joke right? He didn't make any contact with anything except Nurse's head.

I’d guess he’d get more than Jeannot’s 3 games since he’s been suspended a few times before. 5 games seems about right

So you can get cheap shots taken on you if you’re unaware?

Shake your head mate. A guys gotta control himself where he’s making vicious contact

It's always ironic that players are expected to fight after clean hits.

Yet when Reaves makes an arguably dirty hit and knocks your player out, no one looks twice at him.
Probably because the only oiler who would look at reeves was lieing on the ice

Even if the other player is looking at the sky with a banjo in his hands, you aren't allowed to make the head a principal point of contact.

You're just making excuses to justify an illegal hit.

I mean if Reaves is going to throw big hits he should be able to hit even 50% body instead of 95% head and 5% body.
Reaves is huge, is upright, and skating on ice. If Nurse isn't such a moron in that situation Reaves gets 100% body. Reaves can't morph into an angled form.

Should be a suspension but I’ve seen plenty of Caps get big hits to head only for league and HF to talk about “going through chest, head is allowed” or “elbow tucked in”

Who knows …hope Nurse is good.
