Confirmed with Link: Ryan Reaves suspended 5 games

5 Seems more than necessary but I guess George makes the big bucks for a reason. They probably watched the play from the bench to the hit and determined it was predatory, I don't know.

I agree the refs have been terrible against the leafs. Been like that for forever it seems.
Same thing with rulings. example the Kadri suspension .

The NHL goes out of its way to not show one ounce of bias go the leafs way .

But we don’t get worse with the suspension unlike most others we have had so that’s a plus here

I believe the Leafs have been on the power play more than they have been on the PK this season.

Suspensions, I would agree. Seems to be some real hate from Parros. Not suprised though considering what happened to him

I don't really have an issue here expect I'd wish dpos was more willing to give out hasher penalities far more often than they do currently,. especially with other teams

Nurse must have said something earlier in the game. Reaves normally just collects his cheque with a few smiles, and a wink. Maybe a laugh or two..

Won't be missed one bit.

Reaves did not intend to hit him in the head, I think he intended a good solid, clean hockey hit and the shoulder rolled up and made contact with Nurses head. That scrub is making $10 million a year and needs to learn that he should keep his head up.

Nurse put himself in a vulnerable position and unfortunately he got his bell rung.

Yes, he would not think twice about laying a hard hit, as he should.

Figured it would be 5 or more. Oh well. He isn't very good anyways. Do we get cap relief for this?
 
I’m surprised he got 5. Figured he’d get a game or two because it was all head, but it wasn’t a headhunter’s hit. Reeves has the responsibility to hit Nurse through the body and failed, but this wasn’t a blindside chicken wing like Jeannot on Boeser. Nurse does have a responsibility to protect himself, he’s coming around the net with his head down.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth about how this doesn’t belong in the game is cringe tbh. Reaves is responsible for his actions and deserves to sit a couple games, but freight train hits are awesome. If Reaves had been three inches to the left he would have obliterated Nurse with a hit as clean as a whistle. Would have been the hit of the season. Alas, he sits, and the mainboards and Reddit get to farm likes by posting about how awful it is.

Probably should have been 2, but repeat offender. There are many outrageous cases to point at Parros when it comes to the Leafs, but this isn't the one to die on a hill over.
