Luckily there are players like Reaves to police the game so that hits like these are prevented. Oh wait.

How long will it take until this argument is put to rest? Because apparently the reoccurring instances where enforcers were the ones laying exactly these hits haven't been enough. I have nothing against hitting, I have nothing against the occasional fight, I am just tired of nonsense arguments.
The neanderthals will never admit it.

But yes, it's the goons like Reaves and Jeannots that are the ones delivering these dirty hits. They're not "preventing" anything.

I believe they only look at the last 18 months for repeat offender status, but correct me if I'm wrong.
You are wrong.

That 18-month period is only used to determine if he'll lose 5/180 or 5/82 of his salary, as explained previously...

Yes because DoPS and murder trials are the exact same thing and should be treated the exact same way when meting out justice
You really have no idea that sarcastic hyperbole is a thing ?

5 games is not near enough for a repeat offender that actively states in interviews and on social media that he believes that there needs to be more violence in hockey like the good ol days...honestly Reeves should have been run out of the league like Raffi Torres was...

He deserves the suspension because the head was so involved in the hit, and he has a history. I don’t believe he had any intent to hit him in the head though. Nurse had the puck and was available to be hit so Reaves went for it. I’d guess he was aiming for his shoulder and Nurse shifted so Reaves missed. Even goons like Reaves rarely throw hits with intent to injure. He lacks the coordination and agility to adapt to the micro adjustments needed to avoid the head contact at the last second, though even agile players struggle with that when they commit to a big hit.

Sure, whatever you say. Maybe he hates Reaves? This hurts him more than the Leafs.

“Yea, I hate the Leafs! I am going to suspend this super important player who plays less than 10 minutes a game excessively long to stick it to them!”

I look at it as if George finally done something right in favor of the Leafs.
