Reaves may be a nice guy off the ice, however he's being suspended for his dangerous actions on the ice.

I believe they only look at the last 18 months for repeat offender status, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Naa the Oilers are out of spots for old, useless players.
From my understanding, the 18 months applies just to the fines levied due to the suspension. They can and will look at prior history

Repeate offender designation is only for/about how much money you lose as result of being suspended, anyway. Most people don't know this.
They can use your entire suspension history against you in determining the length of new suspension, doesn't matter if it was outside of the 18 months.

I'd imagine some of the 115 media members that have him a 1st to 5th vote last year weren't from Toronto.
