Unless the Oilers plan to send someone after Leafs star players, I don’t see why it’ll be much. The game between Oilers - Leafs Feb 1st is must watch hockey now.
The quickest I've ever seen them move was when they announced a phone hearing for Auston Matthews, while the game was literally still going on. Bizarre behaviour.Sometimes the NHL moves extremely slowly and then sometimes, like this, they hand out a 5 game suspension roughly 20 hours after the hit happened.
It’s not like they were pushed by the Leafs having another game or something. They don’t play until Wednesday.
Pretty sure no one is defending him but maybe looking at the puck when your coming around the net is a sign of limited skill set as well. Players need to be aware of what's gong on around them.…that’s the point. That’s why you can cheer for a fight and not for this type of hit. Consent.
And no. He was hit in the head because someone with a limited skill set set out to blow him up and did it wrong. That’s 100% on the meathead who did it wrong. 6” to the left and this discussion doesn’t occur.
I find the people who defend the guy making the legal hit by saying that the other guy us at fault for not looking up unworthy of being taken seriously. Having a target that isn’t trying to avoid the hit makes screwing the hit up even that much more egregious. Aim better.
Meh, doesn't really matter.should have got 10
They always manage to get the Leafs ones right. They receive a good amount of games and learn their lesson.they got this one right.
Ohh yeah. 50 games!!!! Put him in jail.

You misunderstood that rule. It only applies to the money he will have to forfeit (5/182 or 5/82). His past suspension history can be considered in its entirety.Technically, Reaves suspension history number is zero. They clear out your history after 18 months. Dumb rule if you ask me, but it is the reality. 3-4 games now seems likely as well, given it isn't in person.
You need to read more of the thread then.Pretty sure no one is defending him but maybe looking at the puck when your coming around the net is a sign of limited skill set as well. Players need to be aware of what's gong on around them.
Didn't Jeannot get 3 games like last week?5 games makes sense. They saw it the same as Jeannot.
Should of tacked on the plug has to play 25 minutes a night after suspension, something that actually penalizes the leafs,
Not a penalty that helps the leafs, like this one.
Yeah. But also crush them with a clean hitPretty sure no one is defending him but maybe looking at the puck when your coming around the net is a sign of limited skill set as well. Players need to be aware of what's gong on around them.
Yep. Add the tax.Didn't Jeannot get 3 games like last week?
Is it really a Leaf tax, though? Reaves had three priors, while Jeannot had none.Yep. Add the tax.
Hahahha what???? That's literally his entire career. He's always been a dirty playerLooked like a clean hit to me. Despite alot of the Leaf-hater comments in here, Reaves has never been a dirty player... hard nosed yes scrapper yes, but not dirty. Many nights our fourth line carries play in the other teams end so they can play. Leafs are forechecking hard, Nurse then gets the puck for at least a few seconds before the hit and rounds his net and never looks up. His head is down watching the puck. Zero awareness of anyone fore checking around him. Reaves didn't leave his feet, he set his shoulder for a hit. Nurse is 2 inches taller than Reaves. If he had a clue and looked up he'd see a hit coming and prepare for it. Reaves just finished his check like he's supposed to. If Nurse is too stupid to have any situational awareness and just hunches over without looking up, he should know better.
