Another poster offered Slakovsky, Evans, and Mailloux. Thoughts?
...said poster should be banned from the Habs Board for a month...

Seems like a good problem to have.So you still need a defensively responsible 1RD for Z and then you also need a defensively responsible 2LD for Dobson. This creates more problems than it solves. Columbus can 100% sit this one out.
Would prefer to send Pulock for less than Dobson personally - I'd prefer to move him for futures
Sounds like it's not worth the opportunity cost of the other things you could acquire with what you'd spend to get Dobson.Seems like a good problem to have.

Not much. Roy?I actually think I'd prefer a Pulock deal for Montreal over Dobson, not down for the price it would ultimately take. Assuming the return for Pulock starts with Calgary's 1st what else would it take?
His and Pulock's contracts match up quite nicely... If he enters the player assistance program again he gets suspended for a year though right? Feels like a big risk. What would Nichushkin fetch from NYI?
I'd consider him as part of a deal for sure but I don't think he's going to shoot 25% for his career. Would need to addKnies for Dobson
I thought so tooFor Dobson alone ? Too much.
Would prefer Newhook but think I'd probably do that as well, assuming Matheson will also be dealt elsewhereNot much. Roy?
Newhook is fine, would take that deal.Would prefer Newhook but think I'd probably do that as well, assuming Matheson will also be dealt elsewhere
Hutson-Pulock
Guhle-Carrier
Xhekaj-Mailloux/Reinbacher
Could live with that next year while adding Demidov to the existing group
Isles don’t need more defensemen, they need a true top 6 scoring threat that’s halfway responsible defensively and isn’t over the age of 28.Wonder if Utah would go for Dobson if he's legitimately out there, Kesselring + Doan/Macelli + picks or something
Pulock is not enough for Cozens and Dobson is not the type of player Buffalo needs.Something around Dobson/Pulock for Cozens?
I guess the issue would be how much more, Knies is a bit of a unicorn which makes him extremely valuable. He's a big, physical power forward who plays on L1, PP1, and PKs all while being in just his second season.I'd consider him as part of a deal for sure but I don't think he's going to shoot 25% for his career. Would need to add
Isles fans are still trying to trade away Alan Quine for something of value after he scored 9% of his career goals in the playoffs. This is the same fanbase still hanging onto the concept that after 3 coaches it's not Oliver Wahlstrom's fault he's got the hockey IQ of a learn to play 5 year old, it's still the coaches not putting him with Barzal.3 casts offs — Perunovich, Deangelo, Boqvist — are playing well for the Islanders. The sample size is like 5-6 games and way too small to be talking about trading far more reliable and trusted players like Dobson or Pulock. Isles fans need to calm down. Aint none of Perunovich, Deangelo, Boqvist the next coming of Dennis Potvin. Dobson on the other hand is still young, and in spite of some up-and-down play, there is no way he should be traded from LI right now.
I'd love to have him but he's a winger and Dobson is a 6'4 RHD with a 70 point season on his resume. I think Toronto adds something not unsubstantial to get that done, although I agree that Knies could be a good player to have as the base of the deal.I guess the issue would be how much more, Knies is a bit of a unicorn which makes him extremely valuable. He's a big, physical power forward who plays on L1, PP1, and PKs all while being in just his second season.
Agree in a vacuum, but in this specific scenario I think it makes sense to trade the next coming of Potvin for the next coming of Trottier if you can find the deal. Our center depth is nonexistent, and our D depth is suddenly pretty good. You deal from a point of strength3 casts offs — Perunovich, Deangelo, Boqvist — are playing well for the Islanders. Isles don't need Soucy or another bottom 6 forward.Do the Isles have another RH D-men to step up for Dobson?
There was a rumour of Elias Pettersson (center) + something for Dobson and Barzal.
Perhaps Soucy, Hoglander join Horvat and EP40?
This is what I was wondering. Probably just rumour for rumour sake then.
Why would Montreal accept that? It’s no slight on Dobson but be realisticAnother poster offered Slakovsky, Evans, and Mailloux. Thoughts?
Western Canada guy Ryan Pulock is not waiving his Full NTC to go to Buffalo.Pulock is not enough for Cozens and Dobson is not the type of player Buffalo needs.
But in principle Pulock to BUF should be a reasonable idea.
