Two quiet but solid additions in Smith and Marino.

Potentially the arrival of both Hughes and Nemec this season

Adding a defense coach who was a RHD in the NHL himself, has tons of coaching experience at all levels and has had NHL success.

Man maybe we can get back to good hockey this season... hopefully a healthy Hamilton and a new philosophy on the backend does the trick

Vegas Goals Against under McGill has been pretty much top 10 the entire time except for this year. And even this year was decent.

2022 15th in Goals Against
2021 1st
2020 8th
2019 10th
2018 8th
That was also with Marc Andre-Fleury as their goaltender, who was great for them minus one season.

Issue has been and is still forward play. I think that’s not changing until Ruff is gone.

Fluery averaged .917 in his 4 years in Vegas and dropped to .908 this season.

He is 37, maybe he's just slowing down? But just looking at the total shots without doing any math, it looks like he faced more shots this year than he previously did with Vegas.

Its more like he averaged a .922% outside of 19-20, which was an off year by his standards.

It should be an upgrade for our defensive structure but.. Id question whether Fleury bolstered those GA stats. Id look more into shot distribution and see what the defense did or didnt allow. That would probably give a better idea.

Sounds good to me. Like this Fitz guy. Now dont cave in front of Bratt and sign him into that 6x6 we want.
Bratt would have to accept the 6x6 we want, though.

If Bratt was to accept a 6-year deal, that second "6" would have to become at least a 7 (more than likely in the mid 7's).

anyway, very pleased we now have an Assistant Coach that ISN'T Nas.

He could simply show up to Practice and say "hi" and already he'd be a better coach than Nas.

You know what’s up.

I hope he has a few tricks for our D.
Believe it or not when I was a kid in the 80’s we had Mike McGill, Eddie Guerrero and some other dudes that did skate demos come and skate the half pipe me and my friends built in his back yard.

It was a proper ramp too, 9 foot high with a foot of vert, 16 feet wide with a 12 foot flat though the middle, it was insane, full on half pipe.

This was back in the late ‘80s and we had a local skate shop that promoted all the Bones Brigade stuff come skate our ramp. It was insane! Really good dudes, can’t believe they’re closing in on 60 now. If you haven’t seen Tony Hawks documentary you have to watch it.
