He has never worked for an organization that his dad has worked for at the same time. His dad coached the senators 30 years before Ryan took a job there, and it was after he had already worked for 3 NHL franchises.

He definitely grew up in a hockey family/playing hockey and his dad probably helped get him an interview somewhere at some point, but comparing him to Chris L who has literally only worked for daddy would be idiotic.
