5 points(2+3) in 6 games so far at the U18's(tied 3rd on the team) while playing at first with Arvid Costmar, & Simon Holmström, and then after Costmar got injured with Oscar Bjerselius, & Elmer Söderblom.

Been my favorite Swedish forward throughout the tournament.

reminds me of arvidsson.

I don't think he has quite the same speed and motor as Arvidsson. I think he's a smarter player though. Wish he could grow an inch or two, I think that could make a big difference. He's still surprisingly good along the boards and I don't have any complaints about his two-way game.

Not physically ready. Also don’t think he’s good enough to crack HV71s lineup at this point in time, part of that ofc due to him needing to gain some strength.

Were there any rumblings of finding him a spot on an Allsvenskan team somewhere at all, or is he just going to run wild on the J20 again?

Haven’t heard anything but it’s pretty much the same issue there, I think he needs time before ge can grind it out every other night in a men’s league. He can probably play a game here and there, has already gotten some time with the men’s during preseason, and maybe by midseason he’s ready but at this point he’s better off in juniors.

He's definitely good enough to play in SHL, i have no doubts at all, i don't buy the strength argument. The issue is that HV71 has a very deep F group with solid veterans at the bottom end of the lineups, guys you don't really bench for a 17yo kid even if you probably should, so Nybeck has to wait for an injury or two.

I feel he is very under rated. Is he currently ranked as a 1st rounder?

He is a bit of a Bobby Brink type of prospect at this point, of course really talented, but is the motor and overall game there?

Good prospect, but hard to know for sure if he will take a step up into the mid 1st territory or float around just after it.

I like Nybeck's motor. Would like to see his quickness improve a bit though. I think he would have a hard time creating time and space for himself at the SHL level right now.

66 points in SuperElit now after a hatty(had a shorty!) and assist vs a Frölunda with Raymond, Henriksson, Niederbach, which is a new U18 record! And 5 points away from 1st overall with 2 games left to play.

Will play on the 3rd line for HV 71 today.

Could be the big riser in this years draft if he can finish strong in the SHL and has a stand out U18 WJC.

I wasn’t his biggest fan last year, but I like the jump he has added. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that he is there yet, but despite his size I wouldn’t cap his potential lower than 8-10 maybe. It’s of course a stretch and he would have to do a heck of a job going forward to deserve that, but with his jump, vision and smarts offensively guys like him can be really valuable.

In all likelihood he will go late 1st early 2nd, but if the stars align he could move up pretty much.

One of the reasons that I am really starting to like this kid is because he is really good on the PK.

Its easy to make mistakes comparing kids from vastly different environments, but this is for example one of the bigger reasons why I am starting to like Nybeck a lot more than I liked Bobby Brink last season, for example.

Like he is small for real, no doubt. But he doesn’t play small at all. He skates well. He hustles well. He is good without the puck.

Debrincat went in the 2nd round four years ago. Everyone say that scouting is improving so much. I still think this is an area where big mistakes can be made and Zion Nybeck could end up being one of them. He is a really talented good player. He doesn’t play small. I am not saying that he would be top 10 or must be top 20, but I certainly think he should get consideration for the later and come in during the following 30 without any doubt. Still he is outside many’s top 90 and so forth...
