No not in any top 15. But to your 2nd question, Senyshyn only two draft+1 had a better GPG in the OHL. Is there some concern that Senyshyn doesn't have more assists ? Yes

As far as the last statement, the pre-draft lists are not always dead on and I don't think a GM needs to follow the rankings. Now about 95% of the arm-chair GMs would disagree with not sticking by the lists and your team GM is taking big risk. I just happen to think if your scouts really like the player, take the prospect.

My question wasn't about rankings. It was about actual draft position.

Unless your trying to say that SSM thinks that Senyshen is more worthy than Speers I don't think this means much. Each team gets a nomination and can choose any player, it also can be fairly political (London nominated Domi last year due to him being the older "leader" on the team). London decided their nominee this year by a coin flip. I think Senyshen gets an unfair amount of hate here, but this really means nothing. Erie didn't nominate Dylan Strome who at worst is the 2nd or 3rd best player in the OHL (Marner and him have the most upside, Dvorak has a claim as being as good a jr player).

I am not trying to say anything - I simply cut and pasted this from the OHL website. Aren't the nominees chosen by OHL writers and broadcasters...rather than the teams/fanbases?

I find this discussion to be absurd.

There's a lot to criticize about the three Boston picks, but not this one. Boston should get a good middle 6 winger with size, speed and goal scoring. Thats a rare skill set. The other two picks you could critique a lot, but I don't think there's much to critique with this pick. Maybe a few players picked after him are slightly better prospects than him now, but you could say the same thing for good picks that almost every team made.

Also, to the person wondering about Dergachyov, I watched him play many times this season. He's really good defensively, really big, and protects the puck well, but I didn't see much skill that makes me think he'll be anything other than a fourth line player in the NHL, if he even gets that far. He barely played and really only got 4th line minutes, so its hard to know for sure, but after watching him play for a season, I don't think he's worth more than a late round pick.

He was drafted at 6'1 last year and around 190. HockeyDB has him at 6'2 this season and a shade under 200.

You might be thinking of DeBrusk, who was drafted at 6' and is still listed at the same height.

What's going on with Senyshyn? Is he injured? Perhaps that's the reason behind his slow start to the OHL season?

I was expecting big things from him this year and to figure prominently in a scoring role for TC at the WJC.

He had mono and appendicitis over the summer and recently sustained a bruised lung in a game, so his health hasn't been great of late. He'll likely pick things up as he returns to full health.

Not worth a top 15 pick in the 2015 Draft imo.

If he wants to be an impact player in the NHL, he has to be at least 1.5ppg in his D+2 season.

This seems rather arbitrary.

It kind of is, but it's troubling that an offensive player is not absolutely destroying the league as a 19 year old vs. kids younger than them.

It's unfair to Senyshyn, but he is under a lot of scrutiny because he was drafted ahead of Connor, Boeser, Barzal, and Konecny, so expectations are sky-high for him.
If Senyshyn went 25-35 like he was supposed to, there wouldn't be this much attention on him.

It's all about an individual's development curve. Ryan Spooner had a 1.09 ppg in his draft +2 and i'd say he's an impact player at the NHL level.

Agreed on your second point. He has the tools but he's raw, and he'll always be under that microscope.

Thats they way they do the height, to allow for the inches 0-11
If they wrote 6.30 he would actually be 8 feet 6 inches, put him in net
Chara would be 6.09 and this guy is 5.11

SSM seems to of possibly gotten a little creative in their height listings this year. They also gave Katchouk a similar height boost who was measured at 6'125 at the combine and is now listed at 6'3, about 3 months later. While in Senyshyn's case his combine was over a year ago, he measured in at 6'1 there.

No clue what's going on with him this year. I had him penciled in as a possible goal scoring winger for Team Canada at the WJC coming up, but I can't see how he gets an invite.

Point totals aren't everything, but putting up .85 in your draft +2 has to be slightly concerning.

A summer bout with mono, and having your appendix removed don't sound like an easy way to start a season. I'd hold off any judgment til the 2nd half. Sucks that these issues have probably cost him a WJC spot though.
