Any confirmation of this anywhere? If true, thats why he fell so far as GMs must've gotten word from his agent that he was going to be staying for another 3 yrs. Not that its bad for his development path exactly but that likely would've scared teams from taking him earlier.

Nah, he said in June, he was going to come to NA the next season, but it didn't help him a lot. Now he probably understands, that NHL is a distant future for him, and he should get experience and money in the KHL.

That or he included an NHL clause in his extension?

A Wolves top line of Dorofeyev-Dugan-Elvenes next year would have been great, but I can't blame Doritos for wanting what - 5,10x the money right now.

Why the heck would he want to play in an inferior league? Even for the same money. He is a big talent, he has already established himself in the KHL by now. He will probably never look back. NA has nothing to offer him until there is a NHL roster spot.

If he does have a contract until 2022, that works well for Vegas.

Smith has a contract that expires in 2022 and Pacioretty has a contract that expires in 2023.

Especially if Elvenes and Dugan can't lay claim to a top nine spot by then or even if they do, it gives them an extra good winger they could trade for help on defense.

Assuming your third round pick he is good enough for the NHL - which is unlikely.

Does this project to be a good or bad thing for him? Do you think he's in line for more ice time/opportunity with Traktor?

Current Metallurg coach isn't a huge fan of players like Dorofeyev, on the other hand Traktor's coach did a pretty good job with Kravtsov back in the days.

There he can be from top6 player to team's offensive star depending on his performance. The team was struggling for quite some time and lacks talent. If anything he gets way more control over his destiny. Traktor can't afford to sit a guy who can score. If he is progressing well, he might be their top player in no time.

What's going on with Dorofeyev? He has the perfect opportunity for a breakout year on Traktor. Is he injured?

1 assist in 8 VHL games thus far.
