I imagine a scorched Earth will be all that is left after this tournament from that top line - Farabee - Hughes - Wahlstrom

Those three have not been playing together since Turcotte and Caufield were called up from the U17 team. Wise has been centering Farabee and Caufield, while Hain has been playing with Hughes and Wahlstrom.

oh I know, I think the trio comes back for the tourney - Gruden/Hain on that top line, no thanks..
Except spreading those three out has given the team more firepower from multiple lines. Before, the U18's were getting most of their scoring from one line. I'm not sure I would mess with the offense too much right now -- it's really clicking.

Coaches might spread offensive talent and ice-time more around later in the season, especially for longer tournaments. Fatigue is a real thing for players who, let's be frank, are just boys. In international tournaments, match-ups are also a bit more important as the opposing coaching staff is more aware of your key players, strategies etc..

in a short toruney like this, I think they get the band back together to make sure they win Gold...It's not like Wise, Caulfield, and Gruden/Hain makes a bad second line lol...

he is #3 on my list, ahead of Svechnikov

Dahlin, Zadina, Wahlstrom, Svechnikov, Tkachuk are my top 5

why are you so down on Svechnikov? In my views he's one of the most complete wingers in recent years. Elite skating, hands, passing, shot. Production at every level. What do Wahlstrom (and Zadina) do better?

Svech is indeed complete; i fault him for sometimes floating too much but indeed should fall no more than 3rd

All 4 lines are why the uS should dominate the U18's. They now have the depth that was missing earlier in the year. The young guys have brought a new swagger to the team.

Yea, but it's not like he floats too much. He's an absolute menace on the forecheck and in the corners. Can dish out hits and he plays the PK.

This guy eats, sleeps, and breathes hockey. I think thats what makes him so good, his drive to play hockey. I think he could be taken a lot earlier in the draft then expected. Possibly 3rd oa.

Sounds like someone who can be accepted to Harvard. Wait, he is. Sounds awesome. Will be a great pick, I believe he'll be a top 5 pick.

Yeah, I’ve seen his compete questioned. I remember his coach was on the Pipeline Show earlier this year talking about how hard of a worker he is. Almost wonder if he’s just not being challeneged enough this season.

In one video I saw, it said he goes to a personal trainer 3 or 4 times a week, and practices on ice like everyday of the week. I know that might seem like thats pretty normal for junior players, but when he was asked about his training, it seemed like he was really engaged in trying to be a better hockey player. Of course all hockey players are wanting to become better players, but this guy seemed to desire it more.

I think he will be the best power forward from this draft.

Reminds me of Getzlaf so much. As a habs fan, if we're drafting 4th, he's the guy I want!

It's embarrassing that he will play for Harvard. Many go there to really learn. Is it possible that he will have to wait all 4 years?

Not a chance.

He'll do one year so that he'll be able to come back and finish his studies at any time he wants.

Anyways, in what way is it embarassing ?

Hes not a powerforward, at all.

But yes, his dedication to improving really shows as he's had a steep development curve this year.

That, and his shot is deadly. Its already NHL ready.
