Bjorkstrand just named player of the game for Denmark in their bout with Sweden at the WJC. Seriously is so impressive to watch. Absolutely flies. Absolute laser of a shot. Proud to have him as a Jackets prospect. Looks like a hell of a steal as he was taken in just the 3rd round.

He was really impressive. Some set of wheels he has

Always glad to see more people taking notice of him. He's been a standout in Portland for some time now.

Columbus 2013 draft looks crazy good in terms of depth. Pretty much every player outside of Söberg are showing well. Maybe no superstar among them but a few with definite top 6 potential.

Complete stud, the real deal. One of my favorite player of this tournement, can do it all. Columbus got a steal in the 3rd round.

Very impressed.

14) Wennberg
19) Rychel
27) Dano
50) Heatherington
89) Bjorkstrand
105) Moutrey
165) Soberg
195) P. Quenneville

The first 5 picks are all looking great so far. Of those forwards, I may be the most impressed with Bjorkstrand. He seems like he has the highest upside of the group. I've loved Dano and Rychel's games when they were up with the Jackets this year. Wennberg hasn't been great but he is showing a lot
of improvement - even getting icetime as a rookie under Richards shows the confidence the coaching staff has in him.

It was such a good draft year, and Bjorkstrand was a huge pickup in the 3rd round. He still looks so raw but he is a difference maker.

Bjorkstrand is quite a solid player, very good shot as well. Columbus' 2013 draft year looks like a heck of a group so far.

Got a chance to watch Bjorkstrand on Saturday vs. Sweden.

Ehler's outplayed him but Oliver had a few good chances.

Excellent and unpredictable shot release.

He'll be a really good player for the BJ's.

How did this kid fall so low? He's 6'0 tall and super light but wouldnt you think if he was put on a weight training programs over a few years that he can get to be a little bigger.

Size wasn't the only question but was clearly the biggest one. He was also 5'10" in his draft year. He was also behind a lot of very talented players in his draft year and played with some other amazing junior players. It wasn't clear how much he benefited from this and playing against weaker lines. Although he had good speed there was always questions about his skating as well. Plus being from a non-traditional hockey country probably had an effect.

If you read the scouting reviews now they talk about his speed, that he plays along the boards, goes to the net and other dirty areas, a heavy and accurate shot. They talk about his commitment to defensive play. All the attributes were there and he was rated anywhere from 40-60, so it was a surprise he ended up not going until the 3rd round.

almost the 4th round, too

GMJK traded 44th overall at the draft (the pick he was going to use to select Heatherington) for 50th and 89th overall

ended up still getting Heatherington AND nabbed Bjorkstrand :handclap:

Two underrated players on draft day who would both go higher in a redraft done today. That's some good drafting

Really like him. I think has a good chance to be a scorer at the NHL level.

Wouldn't mind pairing him with Petan and/or Ehlers with the Jets.

2 more goals for him tonight. Where would you take him in a redraft? I'm not a prospect guru by any means, and I know he isn't proven in the NHL, but wondering how much his production over the last two years since he was drafted, would raise his draft stock.

Probably in the 2nd round. He was highly regarded but fell because of his size.
