"The hard working winger has put up a great sophomore season, picking up 53 points in 64 games for Val-D’Or. Possessing a good shot, Aube-Kubel also gets a lot of his goals from fighting his way into the dirty areas, causing havoc and creating confusion in front of the net. Sometimes prone to trying to do too much with the puck, he is generally a good decision maker. Solid on his skates as well, he displays good speed and solid quickness.

Overall, Aube-Kubel plays a solid two way game, but can still improve on his defensive acumen."

Very underated player IMO, Top 60 in my mind and I saw him play live last year, then live at the start of this season and a couple of times on tv during the season and another live viewing at the end of the season. Constant progression. Great hands in tight, great release, great playmaker. Good defensive player too.

Thought he played well against Halifax in the playoffs. Was also a big fan of his teammate Anthony Richard.

really like this player he's got some very nice abilities...

solid 2nd rounder imo

Flyers snagged him 48th overall in the 2nd.

Almost all of us are happy with it on the Flyers board.

He had the 2nd most 5v5 points among draft eligible QMJHL players.

I think he is going to have a GREAT year this year. With 1st line minutes and PP time, he is about to become a steal of the draft.

He was 2nd in ES scoring in the QMJHL last year for rookies...behind only Ehlers.

"One stat I find interesting is Even Strength Individual Point Percentage (EV IPP). It’s simply Even Strength Points/On-Ice Even Strength Goals For. It’s just another way to see how much a player contributed to the offense while on the ice.

Aube-Kubel actually led Val-d’Or in EV IPP at 75% which is a great percentage in general. According to Hockey Prospect he played on a line with Anthony Richard (2015) and likely to be undrafted Anthony Beauregard."(found this info online...wanted to share)

Time for an update:

He has 53 points in 43 games.

He has points in 17 of the last 19 games...collecting 33 points.

Should be on Team Canada's radar for the WJC next year.

I agree. This kid has a future for sure.

Him and Lindblom both have top 6 upside really.

Though I think both top out as 2nd liners if they 'hit'.

Still both nice prospects to have... and both are good at both ends of the rink and versatile. Both have grit to their game and work hard as well.

I know it is early doors but the 2012, 2013 and 2014 drafts are all looking very nice for the Flyers at this venture. (2012 and 2014 moreso for depth throughout, 2013 for top end) Most of the players playing and developing well.

Time for another undate.

Has 59 points in 46 games.

Has only been held pointless in 2 of his last 22 games.

Has 39 points in his last 22 games.

Has any non-Flyer watched him at all? Would love some feedback. Looking like a very good 2nd rd pick that no one talks about.

He seems to be producing as well as any forward taken after him in 2014, (apart from Dvorak who has been ridiculous) and as well as any other 2nd round forward apart from Barbashev.

Ok. Feedback?

Lol ok.

I like Aubé-Kubel's game. He's a great skater who plays a solid 2-way game. I think he flies under a lot of people's radar because he's not particularly amazing in any one area but really good in all areas of the game. He doesn't shy away from physical contact and uses his teammates well. He'll battle for pucks in dirty areas and is hard worker by giving a consistent effort...every time I've seen him play anyhow.

What I like most about him is that even if his offensive game doesn't necessarily translate to the pros, (it might, it might not) he still has a great shot at becoming a pretty good 3rd or 4th line player due to the kind of game he plays.

(Avs fan btw)

3 more points tonight.

Does no one watch him?

It's crazy that no one even mentions him, but I have a feeling he is way better than we expected and might have been 1st round material to begin with. Though if you look at his team's stats hes not even 1st on the team in points. They are a high scoring team that's not very good defensively. I think if he was on a better team everyone would notice.

Thanks for the feedback.

In a year or two, he could be a good addition on the Flyers 3rd line centered by either Sean Couturier or Scott Laughton. There are spots to be had in the Flyers top 9 after we move dead weight like R.J. Umberger and guys like Aube-Kubel and Oskar Lindblom should certainly have a shot at them (along with Phantoms prospects like Nick Cousins and Taylor Leier).
