4+2 vs Danmark, 6+3 after 2 games. Andrei Svechnikov had 10 points in 4 games at the last Youth Olympics. The kid is one of the youngest player at the tournament, btw, Savoie is older than him by almost full year.
The first big test not disappointing so far. Good. Keeping his hattrick per game pace:)

Next big thing from Russia? I havent followed him so far tbh, but try to pay closer attention from now on. What his hype compare to Ovy, Malkin and Svech for the same age?

Kovalev probably, or Makarov. To become Makarov, he should add some speed, though. His agility is phenomenal, but speed isn't. Of course, it can be because he doesn't have enough muscle strength yet. His skating is still amazing.

Sweet. How is possible, he was there?
It looks like some kind of sports tournament happened in Perm where kids were just sitting close to president and hockey legends, another sort of political advertising with kids. You can see his teammates at the photo. And Matvey as best the player and captain is sitting next to Yakushev.

Here is some evaluation about him from the Youth-Olympics - more or less halfway through the article - go to google translate - the whole read is about 5 min.

I will do an English article via Linked-In in the next couple of days with evaluations about Michkov (but in this article with the link I actually tell everything about my impressions) plus a couple of more players from this tourney.

Very Trivial question here, but how do you spell his first name? It’s spelt Matvei on Elite Prospects instead of Matvey. Is it interchangeable?

It's alway the question. Sergei or Sergey, Alexei or Alexey, Matvei or Matvey... Honestly, I don't know. In Russian it sounds as ay, but with e instead of a. I don't know, what way you should spell it in English.

I can't think of a good comparison for this guy, but he's the best player I've seen so far in the 2023 draft, even as a winger. And I'm someone who ranks wingers lower, but this guy looks like such a shoe-in to be an elite NHL winger.

It's obviously very early to start ranking players because most of the best players we probably haven't even yet seen play. I don't think someone could properly rank the best players yet, but it's not hard to say I haven't yet seen a better player.

How would you Describe Matvey as a Skater?

He doesn't have great speed. It's not bad, but I don't see him as a particularly explosive skater. Very good edges. Similar to Kucherov in that regard, but I think his shift to shift play is more similar to Panarin. Kucherov is a tremendous scorer, but I find Panarin to be more of an active participant in the play on every shift.
