About a year ago in an interview Michkov told that he is 176cm though. Also recently SKA twitter listed him at 178cm when announcing the extension.

I'd say 5'10 is close enough to his actual size. He's still probably the smallest kid on our team, and that American defenseman is the biggest one for them.

What are the best WCH U18 performances by D-2 players? Michkov may reach level of McDavid's production this year considering how stacked Russian team is on forward positions.

McDavid was 8+6 in 7 games. I'd say, Michkov can outscore him as to goals, not sure about points, though.

McDavid was 2pts/per game. Interesting looking back at that U-18 Canadian squad and where they are now...only ~7 players from that team have become regular NHLers.

It seems to me all the teams in Russia’s group are tough, I don’t expect many blowouts for Michkov to pad his stats to McDavid numbers

Well, Russian team is very offense-oriented, with 5-6 first round picks among forwads in next three years and mediocre D, saying that he may surpass McDavid's numbers is a reach, but him having really great tournament (over PPG) for D-2 player is probable, and that's what I'd expect, considering that level-wise he's D-1 player and he plays alongside really talented offensive core.

This guy, bedard, and the guys at the top of the draft before them are why I'm worried about the trajectory of the Red Wings' rebuild - we NEED to get our one lucky pick at one of those guys to truly round out our group as perennial cup contenders.

Back on topic, this kids a stud. After Matthews, I didn't think I could continue to be wowed by how these new players shoot the puck, but I keep eating my words with each passing year. Holy shit what a contortionists laserbeam. The thing that amazes me is the confidence that if he can get the puck with the tiniest bit of space in the right spot at the right time like that, he KNOWS he can hit these shots that no one else can (except the few other kids his generation that are psycho's like him). And he's only 16.

This kid has a filthy release and some insane skill for his age. Man 2023 is going to be a fun draft to follow.
